After a week of wearing it the black rhodium finish has basically all worn away.
Any ideas? I don’t want to redip it if this the rate of wear, I’d have to do it weekly!

Can you bring him back to where you bought him and have them redip him? That certainly shouldn’t happen that fast.

Yeah ivy and rose offered to replate if I mail him back. I’ll try to get to the post office tomorrow.

That’s basically my fear with black rhodium... it looks so obvious when it comes off. Tell I&R to plate it thicker this time. And I fear Alan is not to be worn everyday even then. Alternatively can you dip only the shank in the base gold color?

Yeah I’ll see how long a thicker layer lasts. Luckily the look of it wearing off doesn’t bother me at all. Sort of looks like Alan is molting!

Haha yeah danger noodle is a Reddit jing. They have a whole list of weird names for animals. Like seals are sea doggos.
I sent Alan back to get replayed and just got notice that he’s on his way back. Fingers crossed the playing sticks longer this time.

Otherwise would it be possible to strip off the black and replate it gold?

Danger noodle is hilarious. My friend showed me a picture of something called a Trash Panda... a raccoon. So funny, and so cute, and a much better way of thinking of those beautiful smart affectionate animals!

Alan is home from replating.
The ivy and rose black rhodium isn’t as dark as the original but still looks good. We will see how long it lasts!

Also, some of the diamonds in his head aren’t as sparkly as others. Is it a horrible idea to try to swap them out?
