I have a loose stone retired from my old e-ring. It's 1.38ct which I was planning to set in a WF butterflies 3-stone ring originally.

To get more finger coverage and inspired by hot's granduated 5-stone ring, I decided to go with 5-stone instead of 3-stone.

This custom project has taken long time to get to this stage....

The center stone is 1.38carat, and the side stones are 2x0.45 and 2x0.25.

I really love the design. It's so elegant.

But I was a bit disappointed by the finish ring shown in the images.
E.g. both end prongs do not look same in the images, and the finish detail is not fine enough around the wiring bar connecting points.
I wonder if it will look ok IRL.

Please help me with your thought. Thanks!

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I would call them to discuss the points you have brought up here. If it bothers you now, it will probably always bother you. They can do some fine tuning and polishing on the setting to make It more of what you had envisioned.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

are you in the US? If so Id bring up the concerns, see if theres just polishing and finishing stuff that could be done to fix it like MGR said. then i would see if they would ship it to you with the promise of free shipping back if you dont like it. I assume they would do that anyways, but id just double check. I do think you should see it in person before restarting completely, as i dont think itll look the same IRL.

Also, once its finished to your liking i think youre going to LOVE IT!! I think its beautiful and i have a graduated 5 stone, the finger coverage and pure sparkle factor is unbeatable!

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I'd ask WF to fix the end prongs so they match - one is much more curved than the other and I do think it would be noticeable to you as the wearer. As to the finish/polish work, based on the photos I do not see an obvious issue there, but if WF were to fix the end prongs, you could ask that the overall finish work be double-checked for consistency particularly around the connecting points.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I don't really see what you are seeing, the contrast and light in that picture is so stark its impossible to judge.

I would see it and go from there if you are in the US.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I am taking the lunch break to come and have a quick check out here.

I am adding a profile view image which does not look symmetric in the image either.

I am also including the CAD image for this custom ring which is a ring envisioned in my mind. who would not love this design?! I am totally in love with the design WF team created.

MissGotRock, Niel, Marymm, and Dreamer_D, I really appreciate your inputs. All opinions are counted.

Let me make a long story short ...
No doubt that the WF team has great customer support and has been trying and modifying the ring...
The latest version I am sharing here is the result of the 4th re-work.
Before I ask for one more improvement, I like to hear the thoughts from PSers.

Please keep your suggestions coming.

I also do not like the wiring bar has part of fatter than other part...It's not even. Is it due to the contrast and light in that picture?

I am in US. I could receive and inspect ring , but would like to get the obivious issues addressed before shipped.

THanks!

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I can see that the CAD was perfectly centred, but IRL, the shank has shifted slightly to the right. From the first pictures, I have to say, I don't think I can detect the difference you are pointing out... sorry!

If this is the 4th rework, have the other issues from the past been corrected?

It is definitely going to be a gorgeous ring and I do hope you get it created to your satisfaction. I'm glad you have a good working relationship with the SA at WF to keep this moving forward.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I added a picture which I circled out the different left and right prongs.
I do not have a good tool to manipulate the image,. :-((

Thanks for you comment.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I've looked at the areas you've circled over and over and I can't see what you're referencing. Maybe it's time to take a look in person?

It's going to be gorgeous! I adore this design.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

Aha! Yes, now I see what you mean. Maybe in the static pic it's more obvious than it would be IRL? But yes, if it bugs you now, it won't bug you less when you are wearing it. Will the modify that for you? Any WF issues seem to resolve well, so I have no doubt it can be adjusted to make you happy.

Eta. Rosebloom, the right prong seems more squat and thick than the left.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I see what you are talking about, and I would have it modified before they send it out. I think both sides of the ring should match. It's a beautiful ring!

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I do see what you mean. As in, I am capable of perceiving the slight asymmetries you are talking about ::) I don't choose to inspect my jewelery with quite such a fine tooth comb, so to speak. So for me, those type of minute asymmetries are just... part of jewelery. But you feel differently. I wonder if perhaps the level of perfection you seek is not possible for WF?

Is it possible the perceived asymmetry is an artifact or grossly magnified due to the lighting? Maybe the light is hitting one prong more strongly and the extra glare makes it look bigger than the other that might be in a slight shadow? Are they able to provide more photos or a video?

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

One correction -- this is the 3rd re-work or the 4th version. It's not the result of the 4th re-work yet.

My SA is Vera. She has been great. Leon and his team has also been great. I know they would be there to resolve the issues once I contact them. However, after 3 re-work, I took a pause before deciding to accept it or approaching for more re-work. so I came here to seek your input .. I am kind of getting "lost", and started to wonder if I had a picky eye...I do not like to ask for un-necessary re-work. I wish the first version of ring could just make me fall in love like the CAD image which is so elegant ( but it's unreachable elegance).

The vote result ( 12 over 3) shows the majority favors the 2nd option - asking for more adjustment. I guess I am not as picky as I thought. Thanks, ladies!

My eyes saw the difference of the left and right end prongs right at my first glance at the 4th version of the images. The profile view image was received later. I think I will ask for the adjustment for those two issues.

MakingTheGrade, No, the perceived asymmetry does not look like an artifact. Thanks for remidning it, so i got to double check and make sure it's not a mistake.

Dreamer_D, Thanks for sharing your thought. The purpose of this post is to hear all opinions. I do feel differently for the asymmetric I could see easily. I wish I could accept it like you do. :-)

junebug17 and marymm, yes, I will ask to make both end prongs matched. Thanks.

enerchi, do not know if it would be less obivious IRL than the static image. But I would approach for the change. After 3 re-work, yes some issues were addressed.

rosebloom, is he design gorgeous? My high expectation on the finish ring was set by this gorgeous CAD image. :-)

Niel, I saw your beautiful graduated 5-stone ring on your avatar. I cannot wait to see my to-improved finish ring IRL.

MissGorRocks, I really hope the issues can be addressed by doing some fine tuning and polishing on the setting.

Ladies, thanks for reading my post and voting it.

Please keep yoursuggestions coming.

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

i hate to ask this, but is the 10 o clock prong missing its "claw"ing... its looks less pointy than the other 5

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

I hope they will work out a solution for you. But I can already see the ring will be stunning!!

I noticed this too. And the prong at 6 o'clock looks chunkier than the one at 12 o'clock but maybe its just the image...

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

Are the remaking the ring from scratch each time with a new cast or are they attempting to tweak and rework prongs on the same cast?

Re: Help me to decide if my graduated 5-stone ring is accept

Dreadmer_D, the remaking the ring from scratch with a new cast at least twice. I do not remember if it was re-casted again for the last re-make. it was done two weeks ago, but i took a long pause before thinking about this project again.

Oh, thank you so much Niel and stargurl for pointing it out. Yes I saw both now. I did not look at the top down view much. The finger through view has got my most attention.

please keep your suggestion or finding coming ... Thanks!
