ughh only 4 hours of sleep and i''m starting to go crazy so it looks like the g si 77 is the winner so far. but the 83pt looks good too ughh and cheaper man help please state pros vs cons of each thanks

and how does the shipping thing work i can''t have itg shipped to my home she gets home before i do man this is some hard stuff are these things insured and risk of theft? i was thinking of shipping it to my aunts which is 10 miles north of me anythoughts?

Tim

shpped to your work place? Or you can ask them to ship to the fedex centre of your town and go pick it up?

yes sounds like a plan! i know i'm probably just going to confuse myself but i've got a dealer selling me a 89pct vs2 g but hasn't gotten it Cert yet for 3k, yea or nay no cert but will be appraised today and he'll have the specs, but man the certs are good piece of mind man i love to screw myself over! i have not seen it yet.

oh looks like JA can do overnight can get it to me tommorrow, i havn't seen that advertised on GOG

what would the differenvce be btw to JA one and the GOG other than size i mean g vs i color could that be real significant?

GOG has a much better upgrade policy if you ever need it. I bet GOG can ship it to you overnight but you''d need to call...but JA is a good vendor too, so I wouldn''t hesitate to buy from them. Whoever you buy from, you just need to do it ASAP if you want any chance of getting this ring for next week.

And a big NAY on the uncertified stone, you just don''t have the time to waste right now.

No idea how it perform without any further infor. So cannot give you any recommendation. If you wait, you will delay getting a stone from GOG or others if you do not like this stone, delay the setting and the entire time frame and may be force into buying a worse stone because of the time constraint, It is up to you now.

EDT:

I vs G color, might be noticeable depending on your color sensitivity, I know I can't.

It looks great! Congratulations.

It looks like a winner! Congratulations!

so i was going to go to a local shop for the mount but i jsut got off the phone with Marie from GOG and she might hook me up with a better price for the 4 stone mount i want anythoughts on getting mounts from them so i would have them do everything and they said they could get it to me by next wednesday? thoughts on their mounts?

GOG carries quality settings as well. Idk what your looking for though. Simple? Pave? Just tell them what you want, and I know they''ll hook you up, you won''t be dispointed. I bought from GOG w/o seeing it before hand. My ring is to die for!

Good choice in the stone, and I''d let them mount it so you don''t have to worry about a local jewler not getting it done in time. They''ll have a finished product to you by friday and you won''t have to stree anymore!

GET SOME SLEEP! LOL!

Looks like a gorgeous stone!

If it''s still being set once proposal time comes, can I offer a suggestion? Propose with a fake (like a CZ or maybe an inexpensive colored stone ring), and then show her the pictures of her beautiful diamond! My ring wasn''t finished when my fiance proposed, and that''s exactly what he did.

GOG carries some really nice designer settings. If you like one they carry, it''s really a lot easier to get the diamond and setting at the same place, since you don''t have to worry about insurance in case the stone breaks or gets lost during the setting process.

When you mentioned a 4-stone setting, did you mean something like this? If you do a setting search and just click off "Ingwer" and "round," you''ll find a ton more with different metals and different sized sidestones.

Good luck!

yea thats the one i'm interested in looking at .60-.75 tw for the side round diamonds all equal in size shared prong 4 prong for the center stone he's got one with a 6 proing could they change that? what should i expect to pay for a mount like that. no need for the side diamounds to be cert but as least si1 ghi color, good briliiance to closely match my center stone. palladium prefferd will take white gold with plat head.

GOG has very nice mountings and won't rip you off. Only you can decide if it's fair, and as far as "can they do this or that" you need to CALL THEM and ask. They can tell you for sure, we can't, and time is of the essence here.

But I wouldn't hesitate to buy a mounting from them personally.

ok guys i went with GOG for everything. This is the mount i went with

http://www.uniquesettings.com/product/view/2691?from_style=1 they will put their own h&a round diamonds 15 pts/ piece. in this white gold mount. I spent a smidge above what i wanted, but by now if i just had the diamond shipped instead it won''t get here until wednesday and my local shop won''t have the ring done in time. Money can always be replenished made but timing is priceless! ughh i can''t believe i just spent that much money, lol. Thanks again guys for all your help!

Good Luck. :)

Nice setting. I''m sure it''ll look great! That really is quick turn-around, especially for this time of the year. I''m glad that GOG is pulling through for you.

Great job! I have a sapphire set in a Unique Settings of New York semi-mount and it is very nice quality especially for the price. She''s going to love it!

hi guys when i spoke to Marie from GOG how do i tell them to mount the center stone, any suggestions i''m new to this i jsut told then not too high but i think Marie might interperted that as low. should i just let them decide. i''m going with a 4 prong mount for the stone any suggestions is it .777 pts. thanks. i dont think they''ve started it yet since the mount was to come in today and their not open until tommorrow so they will start it until tommorrow and hopefully it will get to me by Friday. I don''t want to rush them because i don''t want them to do a bad job should i worry about it. they are also going to set the side stones on the mount .15pct rounds 2 on each side.

Did she ask you how to set it? Or are you wondering if you need to tell her? If it''s the former, just tell her that you would like to make sure it isn''t abnormally high, but otherwise to use their best judgement. I am sure it''ll be gorgeous.

i jsut told her not to mount it high and so she said under her breathe ok "low" i never responded to it but maybe when i talk to her tomoorow just tell them to use their best judgement? and not too high?
