I''ve officially decided that I am going to get the Sholdt semi-bezel, and I need help making sure I get the right diamond. Are there particular characteristics I should be looking for since this setting is so different? I want to make sure it really sparkles. The setting is the one in the thread below, PortlandKelly''s, and I''m absolutely in love with it!

There''s no particular type of stone that should go in that setting other than a well cut diamond. But that goes for any stone, in any setting.

Do you already have a particular diamond in mind? and have you seen that setting in person?

No, I haven''t seen it in person.

There aren''t any vendors in my state that carry Sholdt. I''ll be in California in a few months, and will hopefully be able to see it then. Between now and then, we were planning on purchasing the diamond for the ring. And no, I don''t have my eye on a particular stone already. I just don''t know anyone else with a similar ring, and there aren''t any jewelers in my area that carry the ring, so I wanted to make sure there aren''t any prerequisites for the setting.

P.S. I love your ring elle_chris!

Hi awicker

Elle is right, a well cut stone is what you need, really no special requirements for bezel settings. Post the particulars of the diamonds you have in mind, then we can go from there.
