Hi I’m stuck on deciding which lab diamond from Clean Origin to go with. I am looking at something around the 3ct range. I found two IGI diamonds that has hearts and arrows but the table is 59.5%. What do you guys think? Which one out of the three do you think would have better fire and brilliance? Do you think the 3.16ct GIA with a 57% table be better?

I am deciding between these three
$7141

57T/62.3D

If you want a good balance of fire and brilliance, I wouldn't go with the two 60/60 style stones, as they will lean more towards brilliance. However, the proportions of the 3.16 don't work well together.

These are two stones I'd recommend instead.

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, ollieschoice!
Are you absolutely tied to Clean Origin for any specific reason?

Thank you for looking! Do you think the inclusions would be visible to the naked eye on these two?

I’m not particularly tied to Clean Origin. It just seems like they have better prices. Do you have another place to look at?

Lots of places. :)

What's your budget cap for just the loose diamond?
We'll give you a fair amount of options so that you can pick from the biggest and best performing diamonds that your money can buy.

I want to stay under $7300 for the diamond

Something to keep in mind is a stone is not hearts and arrows unless they show you proof.
The heart and arrows images on the igi report are not an actual image of the diamond on the report.
Therefor to be considered h&a the vendor needs to supply h&a images, both hearts and arrows.
IS or ASET images can be used in place of the the arrows image to show the arrows.

gcal on the other hand provides actual h&a images for that diamond on their 8x report.

Thanks @Karl_K . I was wondering about this!

Which one do you prefer out of the two you found?

I prefer the G. Only 0.1mm smaller (an unnoticeable difference) for a substantial savings of $1,243.

I just ordered the G. I’ll come back with pictures when I get it! Thanks for your help!

Fantastic, and you're welcome! I can't wait to see your photos!

OP, if it makes you feel any better, I purchased 3 MRBs from Clean Origin. All IGI ideal cuts, all scored very well on the HCA tool, and in person they were beautiful stones. For the price I had zero complaints about them.

Clean Origin is a company I won’t be purchasing through again because their customer service was abysmal, as is their return policy.

I’ve attached some photos of the ring I had made with them.

Thanks for sharing your experience with them! Your ring looks amazing! I was wondering about their return policy especially since their prices seems better than other sites. What did they say when you tried to return a stone? I emailed them about it before placing the order and the rep just linked me to their returns policy page. Did they also take about two weeks to ship the diamonds to you? I’m seeing an expected ship date of Aug 30th for the one I ordered.

You can only return once. Period. Your next purchase (or exchange) is considered a final sale. And yes, it took at least to receive each stone.

Wow that is a terrible return policy. It’s funny (and a bit shady) how they don’t disclose that information on their website. Thanks for letting me know! I hope this stone is the one

It’s here!! I took some pictures it by the window, some under led light and a video. What do you guys think? Ideal scope images coming soon.B27BA9AF-EB13-4AB8-86AC-424DACFFD8B9_1_105_c.jpeg

It looks beautiful! How is it performing? Can you post the report number?

The report number is LG539227802. It looks like it has good fire and brilliance under led light but I think there could be more

One of the best ways to see colored light return is under a broad leafy tree on a sunny day.

The proportions are excellent. I wonder if you're holding the stone too far into the scope for the Ideal-Scope images. The areas under the table between the arrows should be red or pink.

hmm could it be this tray casting a shadow? I took some more pictures with the ideal scope while holding the diamond with tweezers this time

Yes, it must have been the tray casting a shadow. Are you able to reduce the backlighting until the arrows are dark?

Is the "leakage" under the table showing up when you look through the scope with your eyes as well? It didn't show up in any of your other photos, so I'm wondering if it's just from the camera angle.

@Karl_K would you mind taking a look?

This is the best image if you ignore the light entering from the top of the scope, just picture the arrows black and the red darker. It passes the IS test.

Thanks, Karl. Is it just the camera angle (stray light or something) that's causing the white areas under the table in the most recent image?
HDR setting on the camera, tilt, parallelism issues between the scope stone and camera.
To get good IS images everything has to be lined up and parallel.

Thanks, that makes sense!
