This has been going on for too long and I need help... SERIOUSLY! I have such a hard time making a decision here... I cannot decide whether to get my engagement ring made with a pave band, or a plain band. I think I really like the pave, but I'm worried about also having my wedding band with some diamonds and there being too many sparkles with them both together. I also do like the more classic solitaire look, of a plain e-ring band with a sparkley wedding band. Is the whole sparkley band, sparkle everything more of a fad that will pass in 20 years??
But for goodness sake I keep going back and forth and cannot make a decision at all. Its been almost two months!!! Please help!!!!

Here are CAD photos of the two, and two photos I've found elsewhere with the same/similar style.

My diamond is just over 1 ct, and it will be in rose gold.

Re: HELP! So indecisive, going crazy!!! Pave or Plain Band??

I completely understand your dilemma, as I have been deliberating this quite a bit myself lately! Purely as a disclaimer, I think that this is a matter of personal aesthetic taste, so there is no right or wrong answer. In my own case, I started with a matching pave set 16 years ago, which I absolutely loved. However, more recently I have found myself shifting away from the "matchy matchy" set and gravitating toward a plain solitaire/eternity band combo, as I love the way it showcases the stone. For some reason the pave band in my e-ring just started to compete with the center stone (my experience only, YMMV) and I didn't enjoy that as much. So I am currently in the process of having my e-ring recreated with a plain band. That said, in my case it may be a matter of just wanting something different after 16 years... I would definitely recommend that you visit a B&M store and try different styles on just to see what you like. I have found that often I like certain styles in pictures but they don't look right on my finger. So it is definitely beneficial to try things on in person. My best advice is to test things out, see what resonates, and enjoy the process! This is just my two cents' worth, so please feel free to take it with a grain of salt! :)

In the cad it says 3.75 - is that your ring size? If so, I think one carat will have nice finger coverage so you don't really need the pave on the side. You can always add more blinginess by stacking blingy bands!

I love pave and how it adds just a bit of sparkle. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Ultimately, I chose a plain solitaire because I like how low maintenance it is (less cleaning, less worrying about fallen pave) and the ability to stack eternity rings, engraved wedding bands, and endless possibility for bling bling! It's like a little black dress that is always perfect and can be easily accessorize. However, I always envy those with more blinged setting since it's like a screaming hot red dress, thus it's all up to you ultimately.
