Hi there,

I contacted Takahashi for two 7-7.5 mm gem quality pearls to make stud earrings. They sent me a picture of two pairs of pearls. Which pair would you pick? Thanks! 6FD0248D-BB8F-4719-AB4C-71085FC8838E.jpeg

The bottom pair caught my eye immediately. Look to have more luster, I think. And more pinked, which is my preference. I have a pair of gem luster akoya from Takahashi, they are beautiful!

I prefer the bottom pair as well.

Thanks! I was also drawn to the bottom pair - I think that’s going to be the winner.

Bottom from me too. The reflection is sharper and glossier and I also like the pinkness of it. =)2

Bottom for me. Sharper luster (at least in this photo) and I prefer pinked anyway. The upper pair look more like natural white.

Thanks for weighing in. I also like the pinker tone.

the 2nd pair for me too
but i do refer the whiteness of the top pair

HI:

Both, very nice. I tend to like whiter pearls a bit more than pink. No bad decision here!

cheers--Sharon

I prefer this bottom. Which set does your sales rep prefer, if they have a preference? They will usually tell you if you ask.

I did ask and she noted that both pairs were gem quality and the bottom pair were pinker. Thanks.

Update -- I ordered the bottom pair today : ) I will definitely post pictures when they arrive. Thanks to everyone for weighing in!
