Help with sapphire prices

My bf and I have been looking for a sapphire for our e-ring for quite a while. We just saw these 2 this morning. Here are their specs starting with the stone on the left:

8.2mm Round 2.19cts
8.4mm Round 2.31cts

Both were diamond cut, lightly heated with no visible inclusions. They're asking for about $4k each. Is this a fair price?

Yikes, that's almost $2k/ct. That is very high for heated sapphires - or at least it used to be. More and more folks are quoting prices close to those these days...

Both are beautiful sapphires but the price! It's very high. Have you checked them under various lighting to see how they look, to make sure they don't darken too much or end up too grayish?

We looked at these in all kinds of lighting and they looked very good in all, no graying at all and little darkening. Since it sounds like the prices are on the high end, what should they be priced at?

The price is more in line with unheated sapphires of that colour and size.

I 2nd this! Definitely priced to high for heated sapphires but that seems to be the current trend.
