Help with side stones

So I may have seen a pretty good deal on an emerald cut diamond that was just shy of 3 carats in a G color with an SI rating that has no obvious to the eye inclusions. And I may have purchased it because when else will I see another basically 3 carat emerald cut like this?

It came today and I’m going to keep it.

The plan is to set it in a 3 stone setting with probably trapezoid side stones.

What dimension of side stones would look proportional and does anyone have any ideas on vendors for lab trapezoids?

Pics of the diamond though????

Looks gorgeous! I think one good size measure for emerald cut sidestones is where the windmill things start coming in on the long sides - not where they come to the point (though that could be done too) but where they start. Depending on how big you want the sidestones to be.

Have you thought about step-cut cadillacs?

Cripes, that’s a mighty nice 3ct SI-1 Emerald cut! Great find.

Those are cool. Any idea where to find some?

Thank you! I kept watching the video online trying to see what made it SI1 because that’s a huge no no in emerald cuts and I couldn’t see anything glaring. So I bought it knowing I could return it if it was ugly.

I routinely search Friendly Diamonds by just filtering on a size range to see what pops up. I have gotten my best deals from there. I have to stop that now though

They also have fairly inexpensive settings available in 10K so if it’s just a fun ring or temporary setting it has been nice to buy from them because I can wear it right away and then have it reset without too much guilt over the cost of the temporary setting.

This will probably eventually go to Daniel M on Etsy to be reset as he is my go to for this kind of thing. But he’s currently making me some earrings so I’ll let him finish those before I bother him with this. I have to find the side stones first anyways.

I'd ask whoever is making your ring to source them, even if you want lab ones. aka I have no idea!

Ok I think I lucked out on this one. Look how pretty under the shade of the fall trees? I promise I’ll stop now. But yeah I do need help with side stone dimensions and/or someplace to purchase lab step cut traps.

omg it is GORGEOUS!!! I have been shopping for a smaller emerald lab diamond - more like 2 cts - and I hope I find one as pretty!

Oh my goodness, the diamond is stunning! I'm mesmerized by your video. I must have watched it at least 10 times already!

Thanks! I tend to fly by the seat of my pants with these things and sometimes I luck out. I’m so pleased with this stone. I can’t wait to get it set into it’s permanent home.

Thank you! Best of luck finding your new sparkly. This was a total gamble of a purchase but with the safety net of a return policy.

Ugh, so sleek. It's going to look fantastic!

So pretty!!!
