Hi Everyone!

I'm a newbie here and i am desperate for some help in choosing a yellow sapphire for an alternative on an eternity band.
I am choosing a very light yellow lemon colour with a silvery undertone as i LOVE canary diamonds and i know a yellow sapphire won't have the fire of a canary diamond so i am choosing an emerald cut to focus on the clarity and 'steps' in the sapphire instead of the fire. I am in australia and we are going through a jeweller who has just found a 2.38ct light "canary" yellow sapphire and i am awaiting on pics which i will post once i recive them.
Here are a few of the stones i like and the settings im looking at, please tell me your thoughts! My ring size is an "I" which is very small but i have long slender fingers. :D

Oh WOW!!

That is beautiful but much too big for my tiny hands :(sad
Our budget is $4000 including the setting which is why i am looking for a 1.5-2ct stone to keep it within our price range, It just dawned on me that an N-z coloured diamond might be affordable within that price range but i just don't know i am totally confusing myself

The rectangular sapphire you posted is very clean; it does not have clarity issues. What you are seeing is a combination of a slightly dirty stone (needs cleaning) and there is a small window that makes the center square look a bit hazy (cut issue). A N diamond is actually still quite white, more likely to be slightly off-white. If you prefer to stick with a diamond, go for the X-Y-Z range.

Thanks for your help Chrono,

It's amazing how much i have to learn about cut and clarity, it will be interesting to see what the jeweller comes back with in regards to the cut and clarity of the stone they have found. I will absolutely be posting the pics on here to get feedback!

Posted this on your first thread, but I see you moved....so here it is again.

You might also want to consider a yellow zircon...zircons mimic a diamond better than sapphires. Contact Barbara Smigel she might be able to find the yellow sapphire or zircon that will suit your budget.
