So first off I'll start by saying I'm totally ignorant when it comes to rings/diamonds....my girlfriend told me that she like this particular ring that we saw a picture of (it could be the Queen of England's ring for all I know)...and I believe it's a halo ring? splint shank? Obviously its pink and pear shaped...but I have googled and googled and cant seem to find this ring, I've found a few similar...then I found this site....HEEEEEEELLLP.

Thanks a million!!!

First of all, what is your budget? That ring you pictured is ridiculously expensive because it is a pink diamond halo with a large pink center, which are extremely rare.

Does she like the look of the ring itself? With a pear center, halo, and split shank? Because we can definitely help with that. :)

If you are looking specifically for pink diamonds I'd suggest checking out Diamonds By Lauren (a vendor here that specializes in colored diamonds).

heres a pink pear with a double halo, the center i think is about .36 ct and its over 7500
http://www.diamondsbylauren.com/index.php/jewelry/pink-diamond-ring-36ct-fancy-brownish-pink-pear-shape-gia-double-halo-ring-r4678

That ring is going to be a LOT of :$$): :$$): :$$):

However, if she just likes the ring itself, not necessarily the pink diamond, than youre in luck because pears are cheaper and face up larger than comparable round with the same ct weight. And there are a lot of vendors that could make you a double or single halo split shank, if THATS the aspect she likes about it.

ETA great mind think alike

yah...it looks expensive, lol....she likes the pink, and the pear becasue it's different, she thinks most rings have too much "metal" which is why I think she is attracted to the split band....I have a 20K budget so was hoping to be able to find something similar

thanks so much for all your help!!!

There are a few things i would consider....How much does she like pink vs how much does she want a big diamond. with that budget you wont be able to do a large pink center stone. However there still are options. you could get a white pear center and do the pave in pink. Or do it all white diamonds but do the metal in a very pinky 14k gold metal.

Assuming you put 5 k into the setting you can get over 2ct white pear for 15k, but if you want a pink center that ct weight will go down substantially

what size is a "nice" size for the center? I know that is relative....but wouldn't a 2 carat center with a halo seem really large? And as I look at loose stones the prices seem to be all over the place, I found a few around 1 carat any where from 10-30k...oh lord my head is spinning...what should I look for in particulars for a pink diamond (I think she really likes the pink)

this is a 5+ ct pear in a halo, could be considered too big

A 2 ct pear in a single halo i dont think would be too large at all. but i guess it depends on if she would feel uncomfortable in her social circle with a large stone

heres a link (with more links to look around at ) that can help with pink diamonds
https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/fancy-color-diamonds/pink-diamonds

and here is a link for pears

here is a link to Phoenix's beautiful collection. Her pear is a 3.5 ct i believe. if you had one made similarly in Rose gold and pink melee (little diamonds) and a split shank it would be just stunning. And very pink.

ETA forgot the link haha

OR i would contack diamonds by lauren show them the inspiration ring and see how close they can replicate it in your budget

and once I figure out a stone, where would I go for the band...suggestions?

depending on how much money you have left for the setting, i would go with Victor Canera. They are just absolutely beautiful delicate settings and sense you have the funds it would really be worth it. I would contact him and get a quote though, so you know how much you would have left for the stone if you do go his route.

Also i would contact engagment rings direct, they also can do a nice setting for a little cheaper.

Either way though contact them get a quote for a Rose gold pear halo with pink melee with whatever center stone size you decide (.5ct ish for pink, 2 ct ish for white)

Also VC is has a great eye for diamonds so you could just tell him your budget and if you want a white stone he could find you a great stone for your budget. I dont know how good he is a pink diamonds though... maybe someone else will chime in

something like this but for a pear obviously

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Please please come back with it either during the process or at the end! This ring sounds fabulous I love rose gold and pears

If Diamonds by Lauren can find you a stone, I would honestly have them make the setting as well. Its just easier to do everything in one place and they do gorgeous pave work. If you don't end up going that route, I would contact Leon Mege, Victor Canera, and Steven Kirsch for quotes on a setting.

Liebish is also a popular vendor for colored diamonds:

Hi Jletsis,
ecf and neilseel linked you to a DBL double halo pink pear, further up. I had the absolute pleasure of trying that beauty on when I visited NYC and thought I'd pop a pic of it here for you to see - it was GORGEOUS and so well made!!

My fingers are huge (7.75 / 8) and this ring is currently in a size 6, but gives a sense of what it would look like IRL.

Good luck in your hunt!

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to bump my budget up a bit to stay with the pink diamond.

than you would be smart to stay with DBL like everyone said. You have to make sure you work with a vendor that knows how to set a colored diamond for the best color saturation.

Oh Kenny............. come hither! :naughty:

oh i know right! I think the Original Poster should start a new thread and put "help find a pink FCD pear!"
or something like that..... kenny will see that bat signal

It will be hard to replicate that ring. Your budget will have to go up if you want something looking similar. A smaller diamond will not establish the same look. Finding a nice pink pear is not that easy too ... but once you find it .. I suggest you stick with Leon or Steven or Victor for the setting. I think you need to budget at least 7K just for the setting if you want pink melee ... I won't be surprised if the price even goes higher for that setting.

Honestly, I think the best option is to get a white pear with one halo in platinum / white melee and one halo in rose gold / pink melee and the split shank in platinum / white melee. It will be crazy expensive replicating the photo while getting a size of diamond that looks good.

I guess I am pressing on the size of diamond based on a ring I saw recently. Steven Kirsch made a drop dead gorgeous setting (so beautiful I can't describe) but the center stone (while amazing) was 1.2 ct. Now, 1.2 ct is a good size but in that setting .. the setting just overwhelemed and almost looked like it was too good for the diamond.

i really think it would look just fine with all white diamonds and very pink rose gold. the contrast of white would make the pink in the rose gold pop. And I know the OP was worried about a 2ct pear lookig too big, but I dont see that being something to be too concerned with. A combo of two tone metals and diamonds just seems very busy, I dont know.

eta see how nice the pink pops

I would say again though, you could replicate that pretty closely; pink melee, pink gold, just large white pear instead of pink.

not my best photoshopping but you get the idea

I know somebody had a skinny eternity band made a few years ago with pink melee and it was 4k for light pink and 8k for intense pink, so for that setting I'd budget probably 8k for light pink melee and much more for intense pink melee. These are just TOTAL GUESSTIMATES though.

Some more pink diamonds:

This is definitely something I would let your girlfriend help you pick out because there are a whole lot of compromises you'll need to make with your budget to get something like that. A light pink sapphire would probably be doable with pink diamond halo, and a white diamond would, as would obviously a small pink diamond with a pink diamond halo, but it just seems like there are so many choices that you should talk to her about them.

LOL, seems like lots and lots of choices...the picture looks great. But she really likes the idea of a pink center stone (of course)...haha, Im thinking for 40k I can get it done? I hope so...

I'm going to contact the jeweler's that you guys have recommended, I've been told to find the stone first so they can match the melee to it when they make it. Makes sense to me.

Should I have them try and find the stone or try the diamond sites?
