Thanks!
I got a simple setting because I didn''t want to give away that I was even thinking of proposing so that she will be totally surprised! After the proposal perhaps she can find a setting that truly suits her tastes.
I will try to get some better photos in the sunlight tomorrow or over the weekend.

I can''t wait to see the ring on her finger! Good luck.
I have to admit, I was nervous about purchasing online without being able to actually see the stone. However, the staff there never pressured me into anything, and were always curteous and willing to answer any questions. Their site makes searching for the stone you want easy. Also, I must have called them a dozen times, and each time I got the service I wanted. They told me exactly when to expect the stone and they were right on time. I even called them after purchasing to change the size of the ring, and they happily accomodated me. The stone is as they said it was, and it is beautiful! It glimmers more than anything I saw in the jewelry stores I visited in my area. The 30 day no questions asked return policy helped me make the decision. Overall, I feel I got a good deal on a great stone from a reputable company that I would shop from again. I am pleased with my purchase.Date: 6/2/2008 9:15:49 AM

It is beautiful!!!
How was your experience with bluenile? I have their site as my favorites because I absolutely love how easy it is to do a search...but as far as purchasing, we're a little hesitant. How did it go?? Obviously its gorgeous!
Wow, you get an A+ for originality!! Congrats!Date: 7/22/2008 10:34:05 AM

Just an update for all you PS''ers...I am engaged! My fiancee loved the ring, and said that the simple setting suits her taste perfectly. The stone is beatiful, and when compared to her sister and her aunt''s stones, there was no comparison, this gem was white hot and on fire.
For the proposal, I took her skydiving. I jumped first, and got the the bottom quickly to get ready. I had her sister/brother in law make a huge sign that said ''Jeanette will you marry me?'' so that on her decent she could see the question. When she landed she was a mix of laughter and tears. I ran up to her and proposed, and of course, she said yes! It was really amazing.
Thanks to everyone here who helped make my ring buying experience easy and fun!
