I used to collect colored diamonds such as the untreated pink ones but then it got boring so I switched to other colored stones such as alexandrites ,Rubies ,emeralds ....
Very pretty stones. Can I ask why such a stress of clarity such as VVS? In coloured gemstones, eye clean is the standard. In fact, VVS ratings bring a higher risk of the stones being synthetic unless verified either by a lab or skilled and qualified gemmologist. There is also no mention of treatment or level of treatment on the ruby and emerald, which are the two most highly treated gemstones in the market. I'm not trying to damper your joy or anything like that. My intent is bring this to your attention as a FYI, because it matters a lot to collectors and those who don't want to be ripped off.
JustGinger , there is very good price on this emerald ring , I do not know if its treated but I just found it on ebay but its set in silver .The stone looks sizey .
Chrono , I totally understand your concerns but I can guarantee you that they are all certified ( either with a AGL or GIA ) untreated except for the Burma Ruby that was heat treated ( but no fissure filling or anything like that ) .
Unfortunately I had to pay a premium price for the quality of the first emerald ring and the ruby even if they are not that large .
I'm glad you didn't take it the wrong way. We CSers like to look out for each other, and sometimes, the words don't come out right. Do you have any hand shots, rather than the vendor's pictures? Do you need assistance with trying to take better pictures? I'd love to be able to better see your alexandrite jackets, as an example.
Alexandrite jackets - completely original. I have never seen any before. Alas, I feel like I can hardly see them now Please take more photos - and maybe some of the ruby out of its case so the reflected light does not diminish its beauty?
A real good way to do it is to take a loupe or magnifying glass and hold it up to the lens and take the picture through that. I have no camera but my iphone but I get decent close-up shots by holding my loupe right up to the lens!
Thanks for the tips !! oh sure .I know I suck at taking pictures .Somehow it ends up looking blurry no matter what even with the best lighting. I will try to do it tomorrow with a loupe with the ruby and the jacket earrings , why didn't I think of it before ? lol
Thanks for asking :+) I have been so busy lately but ( but also lazy enough not to rush to get a new camera ).I will do my best to post all the pictures .
What I think I have left is a 0.55 ct fancy intense pink in a solitaire , a 1.07 ct ( cushion cut )chameleon one , a 0.28 ct with copper color, a fancy intense yellow (0.34 ct ) in a fancy cut ,a few Brownish pinks and light pinks ( around 0.2ct VS), and one 0.30 ct light pinkish purple ( but the clarity is I1 ) .The other fancy intense pinks that I have are melees going from 0.03ct to 0.05ct .
However I still have a nice picture from a vendor that shows a 18 kt white gold ring with different naturally colored baguettes all yellows , pinks or champagnes.let me find it on my computer .
