I was surfing through spinel listings on ebay - which is getting easier and easier to do as I avoid all those that look photoshopped - and I actually opened this one as it didn't look terribly photoshopped to me. Shock of all shocks, it was Thaigemstore! It sure seems that they have modified their photoshopping er, I mean photography, techniques.

Oh, nice one! I actually like Thaigemstore. Got some cool stuff from them (mostly spinel). But recently I got a little burned on a sapphire that had my hopes way up high, but turned out to be dark, color changing (to totally purple), and completely unimpressive. It's on its way back to Thailand now. Can't wait to get my refund.

I'm sorry that you had to go through that - and not surprised to see that they are still at it in photoshopping. The worst thing is that they photoshop the sapphire videos some how, which is why I was so surprised that it seemed so much subtler on the spinel...

I'm chuckling over the 'titanium purple' - much fancier than steely purple, eh?

I think some of their spinels are nice, once you know what to look for. ThaiGem was part of my "intro to colored stones," and I got to see a bunch of different stones for not too much money. Most of them will forever remain in the boxes as "educational," but a couple are nice enough to set, I think. If you get the spinel, I hope you like it!

I am happy to hear that you have some nice stones from them. I wouldn't actually consider purchasing anything from them as I don't want to waste my time and it really is hit or miss with them - from my experience, mainly miss...

I called attention to it to remark on how much less photoshopped they are now than they use to be.

After having the most dreadful experience with them - suffering from their dire photoshopping and manipulation of their videos - I am very happy to say to everybody DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE.

Photos and stills of what I bought are in the "compare" thread sticky at the top of the forum. This is one Ebay seller that equals NSC for having the worst reputation. The owner also came onto this forum once and his manner was hideous. Don't give them your business or money.
