Hello lovely PS'ers!!

Happy new year to you all! I have been immensely enjoying searching through all the posts on this forum and looking at everyone's beautiful bling.

So i thought i'd put it out there to see if you could give me some ideas/help in some suggestions on what to do with my current e-ring. I have a severe case of wanting a huge rock, but alas i am not sure of how to convince hubster. But this is what I've got to work with, and i would love a oval or radiant (leaning towards an oval more today lol) cut centre stone. My ring equals .50 ct of H/G SI1 diamonds and i have also have another little diamond (the size of my biggest one on my e-ring) that i would like to use. Do you think it would be possible to set them in to a halo setting, and maybe use the two biggest ones and make a 5 stone band out of it (buying the extra diamonds). Am i making sense? It's hot here today in Australia and i am over the heat this wk as i can't think straight

do you know what point those channel set diamonds are. You'd really want to use 1 pointers or less to make a nice looking halo. If they are larger you could maybe use it to be a channel set setting and just have a oval without a halo

Nielseel - i wouldn't have a clue what point they are as i got a very basic evaluation card with my ring and that was it.... I could find out when i went to get a quote done (when i decide what i want!) I could always make them into a band or something.... :)

HI:

Resets/custom work is costly. And you already have a ring with multiple stones.

Is it possible to take the money allotted for the remake and buy another single stone and trade off between them? That way you could keep the integrity of your original ring and have another style of ring for variety.

cheers--Sharon

Canuk-gal... It's a good thought, but my ring isn't actually white gold, i got it dipped to make it all white gold (the middle row is and then the rest is YG ) so that's another reason why i want it re-set as it looks quite gross after a short time ! :)

what i would do is use all those little stones to make an eternity ring.
1. use all the larger stones to make either a 5 stones or another half eternity with the stones and a gemstone (like sapphires, or rubies if you would consider yellow gold.)
2. Get the new diamond in a solitaire.
3. wear them all together!

If your current smaller stones are just too large for halo melee, you could put your current stones into the side of your new ring(s), so they are visible from the side profile...just an idea...it would be a very blingified setting!
