Well, I decided to go with the GPS after all--ordered it today! Hopefully it will be worth the moolah.

So excited! Ok, so it''s not about my SO''s present (although I am getting more and more excited about it because I think it will make J more inclined to take spontaneous road trips, yay!), but I have been stuck on what to get my parents for Christmas, and I just had an idea this morning and am really excited about it! There isn''t much money for presents this year since I''m going to grad school in England and everything is at least twice as expensive there as at home, so I was kind of straining to think of what I could get each of my parents by staying within my budget but also getting them something nice (usually I spend $150 or $200 each on them). They are getting themselves passports for Christmas so they will have at least a CHANCE to come visit me at some point and maybe see Europe (my mom''s wanted to go for AGES but is too practical to travel).

*takes a deep breath* Sorry, I know I''m rambling. Almost to the important stuff!

So!! I almost never do this, but I''m going to give them a joint present--their digital camera is years old--probably something like 6 or 7 years old, and is in desperate need of upgrading, AND a new digital camera would go perfectly should they ever decide to take the trip my mom''s wanted to take all her life! (They also try to take photos of the cats all the time, but their camera is so slow that they always turn out blurry.)

So that''s my idea! I am headed off to Best Buy shortly to try some out, although I will probably go with the Canon Powershot A570 IS (7.1 megapixels) because it''s had lots of great reviews (I''ve been studying up this morning) and is still (just barely) within budget. Yay!

Hmmm...At first I got him a Wii game, a DVD, a T-shirt, some goofy miniature action figures and a wallet- but then he picked all of the presents up and guessed what they were, taking all the excitement out of it for me. So then I went out and bought some things that I knew he''d never be able to guess what they were: some candy, a lemon juicer(it has to do with his favorite meal that I make sometimes), a fish grilling thing and a flashlight with batteries. I also ordered him a Marvel Heroes wall calendar for his office, but it''s at my mom''s house and I think she''ll give it to him being that I ordered it with her credit card (because I ordered myself a planner and a wall calendar for her to give me for Christmas). He''s pretty practical and the things I would have bought him if I could would be a 80GB PS3 or a laptop, but there is NO WAY I could afford those unless I drained my savings completely.

Even after all the random stuff that I know he''ll use, our main Christmas present to each other is that we''re going to Las Vegas tomorrow and staying for 3 nights!!!And Vegas is actually where we made our relationship official. So who knows what''ll happen. Wohoo!!!
