So what are you thinking about a Vegas wedding? If people WERE able to come would you want to do it? You seemed pretty set on the yacht idea in the other thread! Either one would be lovely though, of course!

Yeah, I am pretty set on it, but if we do a Vegas wedding, we''ll be able to save a lot of money, and marry sooner rather than later, and we can always have a big party here later, right? I just want to marry him.

If people could come, I would definitely do it. Although, I''m trying to see if there are places we can have a Vegas type wedding (painless, gambling, and not so expensive) here, say Palm Springs or San Diego. I guess I''m going to have to start directing my attention elsewhere!! Goodbye yacht...

Well, it wasn''t a ring- but sounds like you don''t have too long to wait! Have you checked out www.herecomestheguide.com It has a ton of N. and S. California reception sites and many have the main stats on the page without linking to another page. You could search the Springs/Temecula/San Diego casinos? They can be lovely too!

Nooo, don''t be sad! The present of maybe getting married earlier should be more significant than ring or lack thereof at this point! He may not have actually given you a ring, but committing to an even earlier wedding date proves he really does want to marry you - and soon!

Also: Vegas (or CA casino) sounds fun! Plus no drowning!!!

It was actually his idea to get married sooner! So I get the ring in March or April, and he wants to get married in November. Our anniversary is Nov.1, but that''s going to be a Tuesday. Hm. No one can make a Tuesday wedding. Still, a year away? Pretty cool. Hopefully people will remember it was going to be March 2007... So 12 months instead of 16! I am happy now. I know he''s trying to save money. Now that he found out he owes money for two parking tickets his friend got in his car!! Men. I''m almost thinking of giving him some money to pay for the tickets, but he wouldn''t let me. Maybe put the money in his pocket?

I''m sure he''d hate it that way.

Yeah, I think it''s totally a good sign. I just talked to him and he seemed kinda bummed because he can''t go to a birthday dinner for me tomorrow. I hope that''s the only thing he''s bummed about. See, it''s times like this I feel horrible for being so snotty with him about this ring deal. I''ve waited this long, I can wait longer. I wouldn''t mind being married at this time next year. I could wear my dress playing the slots.

Angel, I am SO going to start planning now. If I can narrow it down to Palm Springs, Vegas or Temecula, Reno, Tahoe (oooh, Tahoe)... Anyone have ideas? The only thing keeping me a little wary of Vegas or Reno is the trip for everyone involved. My family has a lot of children. Small impatient ones.

I''m glad to hear you had a good bday! Doesn''t it feel wonderful just knowing he is anxious to marry you? I''m so happy that he is pushing the wedding date closer, which means engagement will come faster and we get to see your ring faster! So YAY for everyone!

If you family cannot travel too far, I would scratch off Reno or Tahoe, since it is a pretty long drive up here. Better off going with Palm Springs or Vegas, which is a lot closer to you. Have fun planning!

Milly, I agree with you, but it''s too bad because my boyfriend and I had our first out of state trip to Reno, and it was beautiful. And Tahoe, what bad things can you say about Tahoe?? Either way, it''s closer, and I''m super excited.

I like the idea of Palm Springs because it''s gorgeus there. See what happened? I had our plans all set (whoops) and now he throws a wrench in it by wanting to do it closer. Men. I guess mine is an odd man, huh?
