We are getting married in a park in front of a big iron fountain (that hopefully will be turned on) so we probably won''t do much for decorations. An aisle runner (to keep my dress from getting dirty) and some pomanders on the corner chairs maybe, that''s it though.

panda: no worries threadjacking! im glad you like the pink-i am actually only using pink in the shoes. the pashminas will be blues and greens. so you are having 20 chairs. do you want the traditional aisle? you could do it, if you define the space starting further back or extending further forward. i would probably start with candles on both sides starting about 10 or 15 feet from the back of the last row, and extending to the front chairs. i would line up chairs to form two sides of aisles (like i did with mine). do you have pictures of where you will have your ceremony?

yimmers: awesome! love those arrangements!!

Thanks, my friend did an awesome job, although the intricate wrapping job of the brown ribbon took them awhile to accomplish; and the green ribbon of course was cleaned up for the ceremony. Since it ended up raining on the day of our wedding and got moved indoors, her second idea was to take pomander balls of green button mums with sheer brown organza ribbon and put them in 6x6 square vases along the aisle as well. Then they would be moved to the reception area and serve as centerpieces. However, since the chairs were set up so late, the idea was scrapped.

The ceremony site will have pillars decorated with flowers, and will have flowers hanging from the first chair of each aisle. I''m doing a DIY aisle runner in ecru with our monogram hand painted on it for the aisle runner. I am very lucky that my ceremony site has great natural decor.

oh wow! diy runner! you have to post pics when you are finished with it. i''d like to see it! are you doing it freehand or are you using a stencil, or what? i can''t draw or paint anything! i think the only diy project i will be doing is moss letters to hang on the front door or by the bar.

I''m using an aisle runner and maybe decorating a few of the chairs to help define the aisle. I love this library pic.

Honey228: are you getting married at THIS library?!?

No, I wish! I just shared that pic because I love it so much. There''s a fireplace in our room, but no books.

Here is what we did with our aisles i have no idea how our florist managed to make those vases stand on the edges of the pews cause they were super heavy but they were perfect and even better than what i expected, we also used them as centerpieces for our reception

that is so pretty! i have NEVER seen that done. gorgeous!!!!!

I was married in a very pretty Methodist church that didn''t need much "decorating" but I did put these cones made of vines filled with hydrangeas on the first, third, and very last aisle and two large arrangements on either side of the altar.
