Now I just need to determine where to get engaged. I will be in San Diego and cant decide between somewhere on the beach or outside at a beach view restaurant.

Any thoughts?

This is all going down next weekend!!!

Rent a waterfront cabana at C-Level (same building as Island Prime). Private, and probably the best view in San Diego.

The ring is breathtaking! She is a lucky girl.
If the weather is good, I vote for a beach proposal. It's more private and intimate than a restaurant. Plus you can get a little more creative than you probably could in a restaurant.

The time is quickly approaching as I will be proposing this Friday. She turns 30 next week and thinks we are doing something fun for the weekend as her birthday present. That gave me a perfect opportunity to plan a surprise weekend without any suspicion. She has no idea we are driving down to San Diego from LA with a proposal included.

Going with the beach proposal as recommended. We both grew up on the water in Michigan, so it makes a lot of sense to do it there. We have been friends since we were 5!

Also, I am not forgetting about a birthday gift. I am trying not to kill 2 birds with one stone here...haha didn't even intend for the pun. She has always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride, so I have plans for us to do that at sunset Saturday evening. That will be her b-day present and something special to add to a pretty exciting weekend!

Starryeyed – Thanks for the restaurant suggestion. We will be going to Geroge’s later in the evening for a celebration dinner *hopefully*!
