How does it FEEL to wear a door-knocker?

I love seeing the perspectives. I want to read more! I don't have any doorknockers, not because I care particularly what anyone thinks, but because of my own peculiarities. I have a set perception parameter for my own hand(s)-and oddly only my own hand. The ratio must be right, it is self limiting and it makes no matter if CS/diamond. It's annoying.
Also, I'm super curious how other people avoid bonking their rocks off every table and door jamb, or getting them caught in things. Is it always conscious? Do you adjust?

we need to go to lunch with one of these door knockers so we can try one on for size

Honestly, I don’t care what other people think, just feels normal to me. On the whole, I’m wearing mine down to the supermarket and Home Depot, they’re mostly the places I go to on a regular basis.

4.56ct OEC on a size 6.75 finger.

Having had a 2 ct and then a 3 ct, I was leary at first wearing it out and then I got used to it and didn't notice it at all. I did get many compliments. I hope to be in possession of one again soon.

How does it feel? Satisfying! To me anyway. I do NOT own one, but I've had them on "at work" and boy does it feel good! My own current ring is not super "big" BUT it has a pretty ornate setting which amps it up a bunch, I wear it daily at my "day job" with no negative feelings, only joy. Plenty of coworkers ask me about it and I happily dish on my love for jewelry. It's fun!

Has anyone defined "door knocker"? IMO that is subjective but I will say I adore my big rings and it makes me happy to wear them or even just gaze at them when not wearing them. I have man hands though so putting them in perspective I do not think they are overly big or "door knockers". But that is in the eye of the beholder.

I mean someone with dainty delicate hands and size 3 fingers could be wearing a 3 carat that would be more of a door knocker for them than my 5 carat or my black opal. Just saying :)

Ok I’m so curious why “at work” and “day job” are in quotations! What do you do with your days?

LOL! "At work" is when I'm in office with DBL, my "day job": I have been a special education teacher in NYC specialized programs for 14 years, I am currently working with my school to oversee the professional development and mentorship for my school's six different sites across Brooklyn. I am always on the go!

Ooooh gotcha!!

HI:

I really love my large colored stone rings. And I enjoyed my 5.01 (6.25 ctw) ring for the 10 years I owned it. But truth be told, I am happy I no longer own it. My tastes have changed.

cheers--Sharon

I’d love to hear more about this! Where are your tastes now?

Oh Sharon-I think you must have owned the 5 ct before I joined PS. Any old pics?

Not sure. There is one wearing a banana but I can never find it. Maybe on the 5 carat diamond ring thread?
