I am considering to buy the diamond below:

The asking price is around 3k. Is it worth it?

Thanks for your time and advices!

Hi there! I'm quite new to this forum but I just wanted to say that this diamond is so cute! It's the right kind of pink I like.
Pink diamonds are so expensive! I wanted pink diamonds too as the side stones to my e-ring but all jewellers recommended pink sapphires instead.

sorry i can't help with your decisions! but it is rather pretty stone :)

Is purple-pink considered on the same price range as pink? $3K seems like a lot of money for a .16 ct stone. But I have never priced out colored diamonds so I am no expert.

Where's Kenny!!?!?

Pink diamonds are awesome but so expensive. How about a pink sapphire? You could get something sizable and colorful for that price.

The diamond is a nice color and purplish pinks are priced comparably to straight pinks. The stone is cut quite deep, though, isn't it? It will face up pretty tiny as it's under 3mm. I'd probably look for a different cut, but can't really comment on price without having some idea of clarity.

thanks everyone for the advices! according to the seller,it's a vs2. I am planning to ask the seller to go to a reputable jewelry store with me to confirm the clarity before I make the purchase. I will be spending some money on appraisal but I think it will be worth it. what do you guys think?

You need to pay attention to the person who posted right above you because she has already done her research and purchased a pink diamond. Unless it is an unusually good price, I advise you to wait and get more feedback from other colored diamond buyers such as Kenny. But I agree with pinkjewel that it is going to be too small.

Im no kenny  but looking at leibish it seems priced about right.
I know a good way to streach your budget is to get some with some brownish undertones. They still look pink but it decreases price

Here's another comp is't a bit bigger so I divided it by 4 and got about $10k for about the same size stone you have:

So I think that's a great deal!
Just a reminder that diamond prices - especially for a fancy pink - increase exponentially. So, if a one carat is a $1,000 a ten carat is not going to be $10,000. The larger sizes are so rare they command a premium.

Ditto DS, pinkjewel's already been through this process and has a gorgeous pink diamond so... experience holds more weight more than opinions ::) Hopefully Kenny and JustGinger will see this as well.

Will it be for an engagement ring? If so, are you the wearer? I would strongly recommend against this route for an engagement ring for someone else if the recipient hasn't explicitly stated that this is her preference.
