How Governments can change words and meanings

Original Diamonds. Woke Diamonds (hehehe)

I think a better analogy there would be: slave diamonds and woke diamonds and I don't like that at all.

How about: Original Diamonds and New Age Diamonds? Then we would be using part of your suggestion and part of mine, collaboration! The world could use more of that and it's always interesting reading your posts. Good day!

And yours Sunrise :-)

The truth is the word “Natural” is pretty well known to have zero real meaning when it comes to many, many products in the USA. It means absolutely zero with regards to food, as well as bath and body products and can be used to market anything, so it’s probably best avoided, because anyone who knows anything about marketing knows that natural means nothing.

So true - governments and marketers too can change the meaning of words!

Natural in regards to any product has always been nebulous at best and therefore is honestly a poor choice to use as a descriptor for most items. As usual it’s all about if the consumer is educated or not.
The government never set any parameters and consumer product companies have run with it and slapped it on whatever they could.
As the mother of 4 kids don’t get me started on the word natural as it refers to childbirth! (I had 3 of my children with zero medicine pain or otherwise and I refuse to use the word natural.)
Natural, honestly would be a horrible word to use any diamonds because then people could be misled into thinking diamonds were found in their cut and polished form in the woods.

Many rough diamonds in their 'natural' form are more beautiful than the polished results.
