I''ve been following this thread the entire time and wow.

I think part of MPs problem (and NO OFFENSE INTENDED) is that 90+% of his posts about his gf''s ering have been in SMTR instead of Jewelry Pieces or Rocky Talky where they may have been more appropriate. I can see how he''d question the honesty because of that. And in general I saw lots of "It''s beautiful." and "Wow!" comments where he may have been looking for, "Well I think that the _____ needs this instead of this..." but I''m thinking that the reason is because it''s in SMTR instead of somewhere where we''d all be a little more on the critical side.

Sorry guys to re-jack the thread away from the Boba tea(I love to spit them through the straw at various things. Yes I''m about 6 years old at heart) but I just thought I''d mention it.

And kris, I saw your posts the way Mara did.

Speaking about this bubble tea, it''s so delicious and I love it with bubbles. And I want one right now. Why did I have to reenter this thread.

BTW, That place that Mara posted in NY, TenRen is pretty good, but they don''t use real fruit for their melon/honeydew tea, they use a powder mix and sometimes the water is room temp, so you have to wait for the ice to melt a little before it tastes cold. I like it when it''s cold and icey.

I prefer the places that use real fruit in the fruit ones. My favorite flavor right now is Taro, which is a light purple color and unfortunately, it is a powder that they use for that. My next fav is honeydew/melon and then mango. Yummy!!!

There is a place my aunt went in Ca. last year that she was raving about. She said once you tried this place you will never feel the same way about any other tea place. Everything was fresh, fresh bananas, mangos, whatever. She also said the place was cheap, like $5 a tea. And she said the lines were out the door at this place.

I will find out the name and post it here!

waterlily, i know!!! so sad really. i just can't eat them anymore now that i know the truth. a regular milk tea is something like 60-100 cals depending on size but with the bubbles the drinks are like 300-400!

butterfly, what does taro taste like ? i don't like stuff like poi made from taro, so would i dislike taro too? i love honeydew as my second fave to regular milk. also, the teas here are even cheaper than $5. typically $2.50 to $3.00.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If we all saw beauty as one thing...this website would be really borning.
I think unless they are actually asking for an opinion...they just want to show everyone their ring.

If in my own opinion I see a ring I don''t really like I keep it to myself...and I understand that is my own opinion.
I generally say congrats on their enagagement...and nothing more.
I hear my mom in the back of my head saying "if you have nothing nice to say don''t say it at all" :)

"Simply from a helping others out in their ring purchase you can point out how doing this differently or that differently for this particular ring would have achieved a great look."

That would just be rude.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm too late to edit my previous one, and I want to end my post on a positive note.

"My mother in law said, Oh, I noticed you have lost a lot of weight and you look like your old self! In shock that I was getting a compliment (and just as I was about to thank her) she added...Mind you, I think I was nice to never tell you how FAT you were. WTF? When I told hubby later (who thought it so his mom in spades) I said, look, the compliment on its' own was nice. She should have quit while she was ahead. Now, I am sure she thought I was fat (I was pregnant but let's not get bogged down in the details) and she is entitled to her thoughts. But I told hubby, just cause something might be true to you, it does not necessarily need to come out of your mouth."

It's true that people are entitled to their thoughts, but expressing them is another matter. I read this thread, and I hope that you got something from starting it, MP.

I definitely did get something from starting it and I''m glad it has ended up on a positive note. Thanks for all the replies and thoughts.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
