how many carats....?

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering how many carats you all think the canary diamond ring in this picture is... this is Heidi Montag''s wedding set (ugh, I know)... and she was on T.V saying that her center stone was six carats

... and I think it looks much smaller than that! Just wondering what all the experts here thought! Thanks.

I''m no expert but I would never think it was 6ct..I would think maybe closer to 4ct not 6

It would depend to an extent on her finger size, but I don't think it's too unreasonable. Some fancy shapes (Heidi's looks like a radiant to me) tend to be cut deeper and thus would face up smaller compared to say a RB. I recently tried on two 5 caraters - FY cushion and radiant and on my 4.25 finger, they looked about the same ratio as Heidi's ring on her hand.

Here''s a not-so-great picture of the e-ring Ben Affleck gave to Jennifer Lopez. Heidi''s ring doesn''t look more than 4 carats to me and it appears to be an oval, which we know faces up large. I really like her ring and probably think the tcw is 6 carats.

Hmmm . . . my EC is 6.39 carats and measures about 10x12x6.5. My finger is a 4 but my knuckle is a 5.75. Mine looks a lot bigger on me that this yellow one does on her skinny finger so . . . unless the stone is way deep [which is possible as was mentioned above] it is smaller than 6 carats. Maybe she is quoting TCW as others have mentioned?

yes I agree....I looked at the ring again this morning and I would say 15pointers. It doesn''t look that much larger than my 10 pointers but a little bigger. She''s some MTV reality gal who was always in some sort of controversy. I only know of her because of when she and her husband were mentioned on TV...they are media whores

... The general consensus is that it''s around 4 carats, which I still think is high. Heidi is apparently TINY and its an Oval.. I''ve been lurking on pricescope for a while and I feel like its a 2 carat (the center stone) and maybe 4 ctw?? Am I crazy? I have no idea.... but it''s NOWHERE near the size of either Jennifer Lopez'' or Blu''s emerald... and Emeralds face up smaller than ovals...

phoenix, she''s a "star" from MTV''s The Hills... she and her husband pretty much make everyone who has ever even heard of them GAG. Yuck. I like her NEW weddding set a lot though...apparently her husband bought her a fake ring or something when he proposed the first time

Ok, the ring in question. Dunno, but my cushion center is 4.26 and does not look it. Maybe her stone deep (like mine) or she''s confused and is thinking of total carat weight.
