How many pairs of diamond earrings do you ladies have?

I am so happy that even though I am not very petite, my earlobes are!

I have a pair of .86 ctw studs that look HUGE on my ears and a pair of .30 tcw studs that I wear in my second holes.

Even though my studs are less than half a carat each, I have incredible ear coverage from them and most people assume they are over a carat each.

My only other diamond earrings that I have is a pair of .33 diamond hoops and a pair of emerald and diamond hioops that I hardly ever wear becasue they are set in yellow gold and I wear white metals now.

I have one pair of 0.25 cttw princess cut studs in platinum. I'm not sure on the color but the clarity is VS and icy white. They were a gift from my mother a few years ago and the first diamonds I ever owned. I used to wear them all the time but I have a hard time with nickel in my ears so I normally don't wear earrings at all. The jeweler seems to think that there was a mistake made and that the posts are white gold and only the basket is platinum.

FF said that someday he will upgrade my studs and get me a 1 cttw RB pair. I currently have an approximately 0.4 ct heirloom RB stone that I was looking for a mate to make earrings with but I realized I wasn't too excited to take the heirloom stone out of its pendant setting and use it for something else just yet. So now it sits in my jewelery box.

Yr princess cut studs sound very nice, Claritek. I love the fact that your first diamonds were from your mom (my first diamond too was from my mom's). Maybe you can get the posts changed to platinum? It could quite easily be done.

Hope you get yr 1ctw pair from FF soon. Sounds fabulous. I second not taking the heirloom stone out of the setting.

Could you post pics please? Would love to see 'em.

I have a pair of 2 ctw princess studs but they need to be fixed - the settings were super cheap and both of them lost prongs, thankfully when I was holding them in my hand! The clarity of them is not the best - sI2 - but I love them. I don't wear them often though, I usually keep my tiny 1/4 ctw ones on.

You don't need better clarity in earrings, IMO. Not the best use of yr money, at least not for me, he he.

Could you post pics please? They sound lovely. One thing I don't have is princess cut earrings. Hmmmmm, sounds like a princess cut pair is on my wish list, he he.. Earrings No 7, yay.....

.50 ctw ideal cut rounds - I never wear these and am trying to figure out what to do with them (recycling project???)
.?? mini ones that I bought from an estate jeweler years back - I never wear them.

I also have HALF a set. My mom lost one of her studs and gave me the other one. I'm not sure of the size (maybe .25ish?), but the table is cut to odd proportions, so it's kind of a funky looking diamond.

Why are you not wearing yr 0.50ctw studs? Perhaps you can have them bezelled or halo'ed for a different looks to wear as an alternate to the ACA's?

I have some loose stones, including those left to me by my late Mom as well as the earrings that I don't wear, that are currently sitting around, gathering dust. Perhaps I could post a thread on RT to ask for PS'ers' advice. It'd be fun to start a new recycling project. Perhaps you could do that with the diamonds that you no longer wear?

I am kind of a minimalist when it comes to earrings because I wear wg hoops (Roberto Coin) most of the time. I also wear my 1.5 ct. ACA stud pair and 7mm pearl studs on occasion. I almost wish I had gotten slightly smaller studs so that I''d wear them everyday.

On my wishlist are the Beverley K Huggie Hoops and maybe a pair of the 1" Roberto Coin diamond hoops, but that''s really all I care about. I might get a smaller pair of studs, but then I am afraid I wouldn''t ever wear the larger pair. So I haven''t decided about that. But I think about 5 pair of classic earrings is all I''d realistically wear.

I keep thinking of earrings I didn''t add to the list. I think I have sixteen pair. Not all of them are elaborate or very expensive, but I like them all and wear them all. Oops, seventeen. I just remembered a new pair I just wore for the first time .

The mounting that GOG is having custom made for me in yellow gold by someone in Manhattan they do business with is a copy of this mounting from Adwar http://www.adwar.com/products/styles/E3031/view I actually should call them. I haven''t heard from them in over a month.

My computer was hit by a number of viruses a few weeks ago and since then, I haven''t been on line very much. I''ll take new pictures as soon as I have some time. Hopefully my new earrings will be done by then too.

I have 2 pairs. One pair of .40 tcw in 14K YG studs that my SH bought me a few years ago for Christmas and the other pair are flower-like clusters in 18K WG. I am not sure of the carat weight on the clusters, I cannot remember, but they are so sparkly and white!

I currently have a pair of .35 ctw princess diamonds G/VS1 set in platinum. They were a graduation gift from my parents for undergrad and they are super sentimental to me. I wear them 24/7 in my second holes.

I''m hoping to ask for another pair of diamond studs for a graduation gift for law school. I''d like a pair between .75 ctw and 1 ctw. (I have small ears!) I can''t decide between round or princess though. I want to continue wearing my .35 princess studs all the time. Would it look funny to have a small princess stud and a larger round in the same ear? Or should they both be princess?

]. I''d definitely recommend rounds. You can mix between princess cut and RB, no problem there. I just think that RB''s are so stunning and really brighten up one''s face, though I am yearning for a pair of princess cut, since I don''t have any at the moment!

I have very small ears and am very self-conscious wearing large earrings, so I have a pair of martini studs that are .70ctw. They are transitional cut diamond that I acquired individually. They are perfect size for me! In addition I have one pair of small pave huggies. They measure about 1/2 inch in diameter.

Another person with small ears!! [ I HATE YOU!!

How do you decide when to wear which pair? Does it depend on your mood, what clothes you're wearing etc? I find myself wearing my studs (I alternate between different sizes) most of the time, with the jackets on occasions when I want to feel a bit more glammed up. My diamond dangly earrings are strictly for evenings out only. My smaller bezelled studs and the cluster flowers are for overseas trips because they're less expensive. My halo'ed yellow diamond and red garnet dangly earrings have only ever been worn three times

Phoenix you shouldn''t feel bad to have multiple diamond earrings, it''s like saying you can only have 1 set of clothes because you can only wear 1 set at a time. And many people who have multiple rings still only wear them 1 at a time as well.

I have 1 pair, a 66tcw wf diamond studs in martini setting. In an ideal world I would love to have also a bezel stud and a leverback diamond earrings as well. I think I took so long to get earrings because I couldn''t decide which style to get. Earrings are my favorite piece of jewelry; other than my wedding band (and anniversary ring) it''s often the only piece of jewelry I wear.

I don't wear the .50 ctw because I've become spoiled with my .82 ctw

lol The .50s are well cut but nothing compared to the beauty of my ACAs. I've considered either having them haloed or set into lever backs, but haven't put much effort into the process yet since I'm not sure I'd even wear them then. . . A few months back, I tried selling them on Craig's List so I could use the money to buy another Roberto Coin pendant, but nobody responded to the ad (guess I was asking too much

I opted for RB''s because princess cuts tend to shift on the ear, and are never "even".

I liked the size because I felt they weren''t "small" but not to large either...a nice, happy medium.

My pair is 1/3 ctw, I VS2 - very nice and sparkly. I wear them 24/7 (and I need to clean them tonight).

I want a 1/2 ctw emerald cut pair as well, but they are pretty low on my priority list.

By the way, how many people can say they lost a screw back while wearing it? Well, I did. One day, I reached up to pull my hair back and found my lovely diamond hanging on for dear life. I have no idea how I managed that.
