How many sets of diamond studs do you ladies have or want? Do you have a smaller set for casual wear, say in .75 ctw and a larger set, say in 1.5 to 2 ctw? It seems that .7 to 1 ctw have been popular purchases around here lately.

Would you prefer different size studs or totally different style such as a cluster or a three stone in a triangle?

I have 1ct total weight (.5 each) studs...now I would like to find/have made either small hoops or a row of .05pters to match my rings...or a simple drop to attach to my studs.....something different this time!

I have two sets of studs, one pair is .25 ctw, the other is .50 ctw. My ears are each pierced twice, so I wear the diamond studs in the upper holes (usually the .50 pair) and then I wear hoops in the lower holes. My 12 year old daughter frequently wears the smaller studs. My favorite pair of hoops is a pair of channel set diamond hoops that are dime-sized, and I think they are around .20 ctw each. I don''t have the specs, because my sister bought them for my mom who never wore them (too small for her taste) so I ended up with them. They are perfect for everyday wear, and I can even sleep in them, since they are small. They look really nice together with the studs. I''ve tried larger studs in the upper holes, and they are too big to wear that high on my ear.

I would like to have a pair of 1 to 1.5 ctw studs for the lower holes someday. I kind of like the idea of cluster type studs, too. I think they are very pretty and feminine.

I just got a pair of diamond studs that are 1.50 tcw. They are the perfect size I think. I also have two pairs of diamond hoops in white gold. One pair is pave, and the other pair are more like prong set.

I have one pair of studs (1.15cttw), and I wear them for everyday. When I dress up, I prefer to have something different -- a drop or a hoop, or I have a pair of pave huggies that are nice. Sometimes I''m around women with some seriously large stones, including studs, and I think it would be nice to have a larger pair for diversity, but then I get back to the reality of my life and my style, and big studs just aren''t my thing.

I have two pairs of studs. One weigh .20 tcw and the other are .50 tcw. The .20 pair are too small for me and I never wear them and plan to have the diamonds set into something else (maybe a toe ring

). The half carat pair I wear daily and really like this size as these earrings add sparkle and are comfortable and fit into any situation.

I'd like a larger pair of studs around 1-1.20 carats at some point within the next few years.

This is about all I need/want

Have none

, want .5 tcw studs and 1 tcw dangles or leverbacks someday. Plus some inside-outside hoops a la Kayla and Jennifer.

One set would be nice, maybe .5 ctw. I tend to lose earrings and would be worried about wearing larger studs.

I have two pairs of studs, like almost everyone else posting to this thread! One pair is 1.25 carats apiece (which I found to be too big) and the other is .50 carats each (I think). It might be .25 carats each. At any rate, I love the second set of studs which don't pull down my earlobes and sparkle *ON* them! I say diamond earrings should be small! I may have to look up my own earrings here in the Pricescope search engine to see what size they are!!!

Deb

PS-I looked them up. Each is .52 carat. I like that size a great deal. It is perfect for me.

1ctw & .62ctw. I prefer the .62 pair more... I''m only 5''2, and the 1ctw just overwhelm my face sometimes. They are nice for dressy occasions, but I normally wear my diamond hoops or danglies when I go out at night.

I also have two pair. .75 ctw princess cut and .33 ctw rounds. I wear my princess almost every day because they''re easier to put on when I''m in a hurry. The rounds are better stones and have a screw back which takes a few minutes to unscrew and put in and screw back on. My hoops (.5ctw) are usually my dress up evening earrings.

I have two pairs of diamond studs.

One pair are made from stones from a ring of my Mother''s and are RB''s 0.36 ctw 4 prong 18ct yg screwbacks with white prongs. They''re pretty but I think a bit too dinky for my taste. I feel they''d suit my slim 19 year old daughter better. She looks sweet with tiny studs in her ears.

The other pair are my WF ACA''s; 0.94 ctw; 18ct yg martini screwbacks. Perfect in every way!

I do also have a pair of wg leverback pear dangles from GOG 0.75 ctw which are lovely for when I want to look a bit more glam.

I have a pair of brilliant cut studs totalling .56 carats which I wear every day.

I also have a pair of pearl stud earrings which I hardly ever wear. They were given to me as a gift but I''m not really a ''pearly'' type of person.

I wear CZs that are the equivalent of .50ctw.

I may get some Expert Selection studs one day but I won''t go much bigger than .30 or .40 each. I have small ears and I don''t like how anything bigger looks.

I have none but I want a pair. I think 1ctw is enough.

I have one pair of diamond studs. They are round 1ct total weight. I love my earrings and would like to go larger. I have small earlobes so maybe 1.5ct total weight, but no more than 2cts. It will be a looooong wait for those but that''s okay. I have other diamond purchases I want to focus on first, and .50ct each is a pretty decent size. I would like to remount them into a WG martini setting. I think those make the diamonds appear larger and I like how they sit closer to the ear.

I just bought .76tcw ACA studs from Whiteflash. They are perfect. I also have some older .5tcw mall studs that I wore all the time until the new ones. I cannot express the amazing difference between the older studs and the new ACA ones. The new ones are amazing. I think the .76tcw is perfect for me. I wouldn''t want to go any bigger for every day wear. I would love some of those inside/out hoops like kayla & jennifer some day. I''d also love to make some drop earring jackets to attach to my new studs.

Thanks for the responses ladies. It would appear that most have one set in a size that they feel comfortable with. I''m currently building a set of about 1.3 ctw in 5.6mm diameter. I came across a pair of diamonds in about .80 ctw and about 4.7mm. I actually thought of making two pairs of studs, a smaller set and a larger set. My concern is that there isn''t a big enough difference, although 1mm is big spread difference.

What do you guys think? What would you do with a pair of 40 point stones?

I am currently using two slightly smaller diamonds (.34 carat apiece) to frame a spinel in a ring. If I were you I am not sure what I would do with two pairs of diamonds. If you already owned them I would say there is no reason not to have two pairs of studs. Many of us here, however, said that a .50 carat (or thereabouts) stone was ideal for us for an earring. Since that is the case, the 1.3 ctw seems to be what most of us would want. Some women *did* say that .50 ctw was better for small ears, however. If you are dealing with very small ears and you want to make a second set of studs, you might want to go even smaller than 40 points for an "everyday" pair.

These seem pretty close in size to me. If I had those 2 sizes, I''d probably be trying to figure out what else I could use the pair I liked least in instead. But then, I don''t like to have too many everyday choices. I like to wear my favorites, and leave it at that. I like choice for dressing up.

My studs are 1.56 total weight. I just got them recently from GOG, so enjoying them. But eventually i think i could stand an upgrade to 2 ctw.

I have three pairs of diamond stud because I have three hole in each ear and they are all .25 tw carat. I wear the studs all the time and I like them small because they are perfect for every occasion. Although I plan on getting two more pairs one at .50 tw carat and the other at 1.00 tw carat.

My girls has none, but we''re currently looking for a set.

Stopped by Tiffany''s this weekend for research (we were at teh one that actually has nice sales people). Apparently, their studs cost 3 times what other places charge for a loose diamond of similar quality. How many percent premium is that?

Hmmm, I only have one pair of diamond studs so far...I don''t think I would want an ''everday'' vs a special occasion set of *studs*...however I would want a set of studs and then a fashion pair for fancier occasions, aka diamond chandeliers or a vintage piece from a FayCullen type site, or diamond hoops or similar.

I think it really depends on the type of personality that you have...some people may want various sets of studs and fashion or just studs, etc. But for me, one set of studs and a fashion piece or a few of them would be great.

Oh and my ideal set of studs would be 2ctw.

I have none, but am craving a pair of princess cut anywhere from .75-1.00 ctw in low basket mounts and a pair of round 1.00ctw bezel set....maybe the easter bunny will bring me a pair

I have one - .28 ctw. Although they are small, I LOVE them. Perfect for everday wear. Maybe down the line when I have more money I''ll upgrade or get another pair of larger diamonds.

I have one pair of studs- .83 ctw, and I think they look great on my ears. Because they are ideal cut, they definitely have a presence and look large-ish to me. I had a pair of 1.50 ctw Signity Stars and they were too big. I also have a pair of diamond huggies and another pair that has rounds that make a flower shape. I prefer the studs, and can''t anticipate needing another pair.

I currently have 1 pr., 2.66ctw. I wear these everyday, but would love some type of dangle to add to them. But not sure what would work the best. Someone hurry up and be the guinea pig on this one.!
Also looking for medium size diamond hoops, inside/out. But can''t decide between pave set or prongs. I think I want a size between a quarter and a 50cent piece. Pictures anyone?
