How much do you wear your e-ring?

I also take my e-ring off the minute I get into the house. I wear it daily when I go to work, but I never put it on when I'm just out running errands.

We do not have the ring yet either, but I am dreaming about it and what I'll do! I plan on getting a few inexpensive ring holders (the ones that have a taller part in the middle to slip the ring on to) and placing them around the house...next to nightstand, sinks etc. so that I have a place to set it when I have to/need to take it off. I'll always know where I put it and it's safe from slipping away. I plan to wear mine at all of the time I am not cleaning, gardening, shower, sleeping etc...although I'm sure the first few nights I will be wearing it to bed!

Good Luck! I hope it comes soon! Post pics

If I (ever) get mine, I won't take it off unless necessary.

The wait is killing me.

This is why I wanted platinum -- why take it off for anything other than safety issues?

Of course, I'd better check on the chemical interactions with sapphires....

I wear mine all the time, never take it off exept for cleaning. I didn't think I'd be wearing all the time to be honest but I'm really crazy about it. I love looking at it etc.

I wear my rings almost all the time, including to bed. I take them off to shower (they soak in cleaner), to run (my hands swell when I run), and to garden (I can't stand gloves when I garden). When they're off, they are in my jewelry box, no exceptions. I am very anal about "a place for everything and everything in its place." I feel naked without my rings, and I look funny- the fingers are narrower where the rings sit, and I have a ring tan!

A friend of mine is an anesthesiologist, has been married for a few years, and she has a quite large (probably 2 ct) radiant stone with side traps. It's an impressive ring. SHe also just had a baby. I've never seen her without the ring on. She puts her gloves on right over it (it's low set) and intubates and starts IV lines and everything. I don;t know if I'll do the same thing when it's my turn, but I think she does it because in the middle of a stressful day, after she's been up most of the night, and one of her patients just threw up on her, I think it makes her happy to look down and see this beautiful ring.

My other thought - maybe this is a geographical thing. Most of the women I know wear their e-rings almost all the time. I live in the southeast. Where are you from if you do wear your ring constantly? Are where are you from if you don't?

I also wear my rings all the time except for times when they might get really dirty or banged up. I don't shower in them because of the soap factor, but I do sleep in them. I'm curious why most of you take yours off to sleep. Is it because of the size (comfort) or some other reason. Oh, and I'm from AZ.

I'm from the Southeast too and I never see any of my friends or relatives without them on.. Maybe it is a southern thing..

Gotta love the south, the belles don't run around without their bling on!! lol

Still waiting for my bling.

I take mine off for my shower (I used colored conditioner to keep my hair bright), and usually soak it in cleaner or ammonia/water while Im in the shower. I dry it thoroughly and then get through my hair, conditioners and stuff then wash my hands and put it back on after a thorough Loupe examination of almost 15 minutes (no kidding, Im really crazy)

Otherwise, unless Im cleaning or making a really messy dinner, I don't take it off. Which is why I take my loupe out and constantly check it if I so much as tap it on paper...a key...a desk...anything.

I use bath gel in the shower, works wonders ... nice smell (tropical florals etc.) and it cleans your body and diamonds at the same time !!!

Shampoo does the same thing.

Got rid of bar soap a long time ago.

I wear my e-ring all of the time except when I need garden gloves to do heavy yard work ... they don't fit over my ring because the stone sticks up almost a half inch

cflutist, that's a great idea! I have noticed that my liquid handsoap is great for cleaning my rings.

I don't use bar soap either, so I don't notice a build up at all. I also clean my rings daily. I wear them for everything except gardening. If I have a really greasy pan to wash, I will take it off; but other than that, I wear them.

P.S. Grew up in Texas. Don't know if it's a Southern thing or not though. I've never seen my mother without hers.

I would LOVE to wear my e-ring 24/7!

But I'm so afraid I'll chip it or loosen the prongs by accident. When I get home I put my e-ring into a plastic dish with some liquid dishwashing detergent. It soaks there for about an hour while I'm taking off my makeup and preparing dinner.

Then I put it in a box and sometimes I carry it around with me in the house! How silly am I? Hahahahaha. I am a nut! I read somewhere that we're not supposed to wear our e-rings to bed to avoid snagging the prongs on bedding and loosening the setting. That didn't sound too feasible to me, but I'm not risking it either!

Darn, because I love waking up and seeing my ring!

I'm updating my response. . .My husband actually becomes mad when I don't wear my rings. Sometimes they bother me or feel to chunky on my finger so I take a break for a few weeks, but I guess this doesn't go over too well for him, so I've started wearing mine all the time. Now, my diamond is greasy and dirty from lotion and cooking oils, but oh well, the hubbie is happy

I agree about hands looking funny when you take off the rings, my finger is starting to get thinner where the rings sit!! Not to mention paler!

What causes the thinner area phenomenon, it is noticeable when I have my rings off that the skin tapers in there and my other fingers on this hand or the other hand do not do that. Is that the key to having shapely fingers? Tight rings. I say tight because since it's summer my hands have been slightly swollen so my rings are very fitted most of the day, only loosening up at night. I wish I'd gotten them about .25 size bigger to account for the swelling in the heat, but then in winter they are already loose enough to clink toghether. There's no right answer I suppose.

Mara... had a friend jokingly tell me that the "taper" in the finger is actually from the finger "gaining muscles" and losing fat thereby becoming more svelte. Maybe we should all get dimaonds for each finger so we all have long thin tapered fingers.

I have freak knuckles. They are freaking HUGE. Im such a nerd. I wanted to get my ring finger knuckle shaved down so it was one sleek line.

Before you know it, this will be a real cosmetic option

About six months ago on TV there was a show discussing how overboard cosmetic surgery has gotten and they showed a story of a woman who's toe length was reduced so she could fit into pointier shoes! Isn't that just bizzarre?

THAT is. I cannot figure out those shoes! SO UGLY. But then I only wear running shoes.

I figure it will be an option, then I can buy smaller ring sizes and have a bigge lookin stone.

I take off my rings when I'm doing housework etc., and at night--the diamond ring because of potential danger with bumping it while I'm sleeping and the wedding band because of the dent-in-the-finger problem. My fingers swell up at night while I'm sleeping and my finger gets that dent. I found that if I don't sleep in it, my finger stays the normal shape.

I need to change my response now too.

Since receiving my anniversary upgrade + matching band a bit earlier than expected, I wear them all the time.I still don't wear any rings around the house, but any time I wear a wedding ring, I wear my new set. I still have my bands but I am in the middle of a couple "recycling" projects at the moment that I am very excited about.
