I know it probably sounds weird, but how many pieces of jewelry is it ok to wear at once? Earrings, necklace, ering and wring? I'm curious to what looks right(from someone else). I know that when I was younger, I wore a few rings on each hand. And now it seems like way too much. Is it? I see people that look like they are wearing "all" of their jewelry at once. It seems fine, but I would just like to know whats perfect. I stopped wearing a lot of jewelry the past couple years, but I still buy them  , I keep telling myself its the last piece. Yeah right! haha...

I take Coco Chanel's advice:
“Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.”

I'm not sure what is considered to be most appropriate, but I just wear what I feel looks good. I usually wear a pair of earrings (switch them up), a necklace (switch them up), two rings on my right hand (class ring on ring finger and ring with small diamonds from my FF on index finger) , and one on my left hand (silver ring from my FF on my index finger). Maybe too bling-y for some, but it's perfect for me.

I haven't gotten my e-ring yet, so when I do, I will take the silver ring off my left hand, and wear it on my right hand instead - alternating it with the other ring from my FF.

Um, I wear whatever I feel like wearing. Sometimes it's a lot, sometimes not. Generally it's a lot though :Up_to_something:

Today, I'm wearing 3.5cttw filigree chandelier earrings. My 3.5ct OEC ering. A 1.22ct OEC RHR. A round multicolored Tahitian pearl strand, 11mmish. A 2.5cttw antique Deco filigree platinum watch (which I ruined the movement on a week ago ;( and doesn't work but it's still pretty!). An ankle length black silk skirt, which is really thin and floaty, and a black lace camisole, and my hair is piled up into a big poof on my head with a few hanging curls. (It's about 90 inside my work right now and it's gonna be even hotter :(sad ). And all my tattoos are showing, too, which I consider as part of an outfit, and I have a lot of them.

I'm sure that's wayyyy too much for a lot of people! But I'm also likely to wear what most would probably call evening dresses to work if I feel like it too. So it really is just a "what works with your personal style" sort of thing. I'd say if you are feeling self concious then it is probably too much. You gotta have utter confidence that what you chose is *perfect* or it isn't going to work, y'know?

WOW!!! I like. It all seems so beautiful the way you described. I can't even imagine(I see a pinup girl in my head modeling diamonds). I wish I could see a picture  I don't have anything big though, but I have been thinking about trading in my little ones in for bigger ones. I want to dress up but I'm still glued to my tshirt and jeans. But I will definitely wear them with confidence! Thanks

I usually wear my ering and wband and earrings (2 holes in each ear). Sometimes I'll wear a rhr if I'm feeling fancy. I have a few nicer necklaces that I stopped wearing regularly once my son learned to grab them.

Wear whatever you want.

its a balancing act!you should consider what you are wearing and what each piece of jewelry looks like and if it contributes to the over look and balace that you are going for.wearing alot of jewelry can work if the combination of metals, stones and era of pieces work together.

I'm not sure if there's really a right answer, but I don't wear much jewelry. I only wear earrings and my wedding set. Occasionally I'll wear a RHR too. I'm not a bracelet or a necklace person (although I love how they look on others), so I don't wear them.

load em up!!

As much as Queen Mary and Queen Alexandra wore and nobody wears that much any more! I haz a sad! ;(

LGK, with the outfit you describe, you sound to me like a postmodern Gibson Girl! I love it.

As for me? I follow the adage that too much is never enough, philosophically. If I see somebody wearing huge knuckledusting rings and beautiful shouldergrazing earrings and a choker, I think "A new friend!" If I'm feeling dressy, that's the sort of thing I go with. In this heat, though? I'm eschewing just about everything aside from the earrings. It is just too *muggy* for most everything.

P.S. - I also have a tiara collection, so I might not be the ideal candidate for this sort of a poll.

If I had their jewelry wardrobes, I'd totally do it. Now, where to find eight zillion diamond riviera necklaces....

Circe, tiaras?! OMG I love it! I wear tiaras sometimes too, usually ones I've put together using Swarovski crystals and antique rhinestone necklaces. I think you and I have some similar taste going on here :wink2: One of my good friends shares my OTT style (though she does rockabilly/pinup and I am more a weird mix of Victorian and goth I guess). We took over Portland two weeks ago and did an attack makeover on my (usually very dressed down) sister. Heh. If you watch HBO you may see us in the next year or so actually, we were interviewed for an HBO documentary on strippers (OK don't ask) and were all awkward on camera together. But it is proof I got makeup on my sister for the first time since my mom got married 11 years ago

Shai, I wish! If I put all my jewelry on my aforementioned friend you might get that effect, lol.

Define Okay.

I'm a bit of a minimalist, and I have a few 'rules'. I only like to wear rings on one finger of each hand. If I am wearing a bracelet on my right hand, I won't wear rings on that hand. On the rare occasion I wear a necklace, I will only wear stud earrings.

I have an aunty who wears quite a bit of jewelry. It used to be a bit of a joke between my mum and i about how (and how much) she used to wear in fairly inappropriate places when i was growing up. We had a market garden (growing vegetables) and my aunty and uncle had a nursery growing plants next door. He had no front teeth but she was quite literally dripping in gold and diamonds whilst tending to the seedlings, but i digress...

So i saw this Aunty and my nannas funeral this year and i took a mental picture of what she was wearing.

She had 3 pairs of diamond studs in her ears. 2ct, 1ct and .50ct (approx of course but that first pair were huge and the last pair were bigger than what most people on PS wear).

A chain of pearls the size large marbles.

2 large cuff bracelets in yellow gold about 5cm wide each on both arms.

Each hand had 2 or 3 rings on each finger up to the knuckles (including the thumbs), the 3ct diamond she had looked small in comparison to some of the other coloured stones she was wearing.

I feel that anything under that amount is ok. :cheeky:

I think it's all about balance. I prefer rings on only 1 finger on each hand. If you wear big earrings, do a small necklace and vice versa. I don't usually wear bracelets, but the ones I have are more dainty because I wear a men's size watch.

The jewelry I wear daily: wedding ring and e-ring on left ring finger, watch on left wrist, .6 CTW bezeled diamond studs and a long-ish pendant necklace. I also have a 5 stone diamond ring that I wear on my right middle finger, but I only wear that on dressier occasions. It's not huge (I think it's a little over 1 CTW), but it feels a little blingy for daily wear since my e-ring is pretty blingy, too.

I do this as well. This means I leave the house with earrings and one ring, either a wedding band or engagement ring having taken the other one off.

I wear only my wedding set and nothing else but small wg hoops! I adore looking at people with lots of accessories, but don't like it on myself.

I can't stand more then one ring per hand, studs and maybe, if I'm feeling blingy, a neckalce :cheeky: on me. I know one gal who wears a blingy eternity wedding ring - four rows of ideal cut diamonds with her 4 carat emerald cut on the other had and three tennis bracelets her wrist - each over 2 carats each. My coworker on the other had wears a simple 1/2 carat wedding set. It's beautiful and I really want to ask her if I can do a photo shoot of it :cheeky:

Point is - when it comes to other people, the right amount of bling is whatever they are happy with

I used to wear tons of stuff at once when I was a teen/early 20s! I laugh now to think of it. My MIL made such note of this, one of the games she had for my wedding shower was "How many pieces of Jewelry was Lyra wearing?". I left the room and they guessed. I was fairly embarrassed about that actually... I think the final count was 11 btw.

Now it's huggies, one ring on each hand, watch and/or bracelet/necklace. I've come a long way baby.
