How soon is too soon to be talking about marriage?

Within the first month my husband and I started dating he casually mentioned that he was on Blue Nile looking for diamonds. It kind of threw me, to be honest, I always figured that for a guy the process was a slow burn, not a flash fire.

From that point on, we really discussed getting married...what our expectations were and what not. I had been engaged before, so I had a lot of things to go over with him.

As it turned out, we got engaged on our 3 month anniversary. Clearly, we weren't messing around. It was fast, like whiplash fast, but it was *right* for us. Now, we've been married for going on 4 years...we're happy, successful as a couple, and 100% on the same page.

I personally don't believe there is a right vs. wrong time to start the talk. As a matter of fact, I think the sooner the better. It's so important for a couple to be on the same page, especially as you get older, knowing where you're going and what you're looking for is pivotal.
