How to find large maybe heart-shaped red red spinel?

I've fallen in love with red spinels from reading this forum!

Larger ones seem rare....I'm thinking 4 or 5+ carats....maybe in a red and heart shape?

Any advice how to get one (specific vendors, whether I have to get it cut....etc., what to look for??)

True red spinels are very rare. In large sizes and in a specific shape it's going to be quite the hunt!

Not a true red but a beautiful saturated pink red nonetheless in a heart shaped spinel that is almost 6 carats.

Supply and demand... and consider what people pay for a lump of 'anything but rare' colourless carbon.

Oh, and this just went for over $145,000/ct
