How to tell the difference between "White Gold Solder & Platinum Solder"

Can a Platinum smith tell if a Platinum Ring where joined together with white gold solder and not platinum solder which should have been used on a Platinum Ring ??

Are there any tests that are easy to perform that you can tell that if your Platinum Ring was soldered together with white gold solder instead of using proper platinum solder ??

scratch and acid test...but you would have to make sure you got the solder not the ring

if it isnt plated an expert can tell by looking at it.
if your worried about the guy using the wrong solder why are you even thinking about dealing with him still?

Just spoke to another Platinum Smith and he told me everything he is doing is wrong, and for me to go else where even it is going to another Platinum Smith, to spend the extra dollars and get it done right.
