I've been intrigued by this stone for quite a while. I just wouldn't know how to mount it. I have no plans on purchasing it (at the present time), but I love to get ideas.

It measures 11.13 x 5.64 mm.What would you do with it?

pendant, vertically :appl:

Something like this in high yellow gold! I personally love the look of an elongated oval.

A simple 5 stone ring to take advantage of the extreme height with the 4 side stones providing coverage to the left and right.

i'm with chrono on this. this 7-stone setting is one of my favorites:

or if you like more bling, i like the half moons with pave around all 3 stones to pull the look together:

last one, here is the look of a long oval with pears. i wouldn't have visualized it this way but looks interesting!

I saw that stone and also thought it looked very promising. I've attached pics of a JAR marquise diamond ring

I also like sonoma's suggestion of a vertical pendant. That would look lovely with your ring. Did you make your earrings? Do I sense a parure in the making?

I also like this pendant and chain.

Pendant, maybe something like this (from 1st Dibs), with any accent stones you like:

Some elongated ovals & rectangles are so luscious color-wise, but that look in a ring doesn't appeal to me. Looks awkward, somehow. However, i've seen some really nice ones around here.

This would be over the top........in a good way.

I've been surfing for ideas. As a rule, I tend toward unique, organic designs. Informal or slightly odd pieces. I have my formal and expected ruby cluster ring, so I'd lean toward using this stone as a pendant. If so, I wouldn't want an expected design.

These are not expected designs, but I would still love responses. Please don't worry about offending me.

Uppy,
Have you tried the foil test to see how it behaves on being bezeled?

Wow, this ring setting is stunning. It would really feature that ruby.

Do you want to wear it with your ring? If you do, do you wear your ring daily, or on occasion?

This idea would match but still be a little different. Create the same "Lady Di" cluster setting but hang it east/west instead of hanging lengthwise.
