When I drove my daughter to the bus stop at 6:15 am today the thermometer on the car said it was 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The computer says it is 11 degrees in my town. (That is -11.66 Celsius.) (This is Virginia in the United States.)

My parents in Connecticut (which is farther north in New England) said it is 0 degrees F and -10 degrees in some places. (The computer said it was 2 degrees there.) For both Virginia and Connecticut this is colder than usual. (Although it is usual for a few days to be this cold in any given winter in Connecticut.)

How is the weather where you are? Is this usual weather?

It''s been so cold here in East Tennesse I swear I saw a flock of geese headed North the other day!!I''m not kidding. We also get snarky comments from tourist(yankies)wondering why it''s not warm down here. It''s not always

and

in the south.

Well, if they were en route to Virginia, I think they will be disappointed!

Its 24 here now and was 35 and humid thru the day.
That is Celcius

It has been hot all week - the tennis players have earned their millions!

OK...for those of us still using Fahrenheit, make that 95 degrees and humid in Australia! (The 35 degrees, that is.)

I live in northern Michigan (lower peninsula) and we have had several cold snaps, colder than usual, for us. Right now it is 10 degrees and we are supposed to go all the way up to 27 degrees. WHOOPI, a heat wave!!! I am not sure whether the cold is a large factor or not, but 2 schools have had to close because of sickness. I can''t wait for spring and summer this year!

It''s -8*F here in Northern Ohio, USA. I think I''ll hibernate today.

Joker....

It''s not so "hot" in Hotlanta today! Atlanta, GA is a chilly 34 degrees this AM and we will be under a winter storm warning from tonight until Saturday afternoon

We southerners have no clue what to do with a forecast like that except to RUN to the grocery store because we are certain we will never be able to leave home again and will starve to death
20.gif
Yes, I''ll be going to the grocery too!

It is a chilly 0 F in northern Indiana today....but the sun is shining and that makes up for it.

HI:

Where I live in Western Canada (Calgary), we have been experiencing what I consider weather extremes. It isn''t unusual for us to have mild temps as we get the Chinooks (winds) which keep things temperate--but the "swings" is what is rather odd. For example, for the first two weeks or so of Jan. we had cold to extremely cold weather--temps -25 to -40 C.--but within days it warmed up to zero, then last week I skiied in +12 C!!!! And it was rainiing in Banff! From -40 with the wind chill to +12 and rain is totally kooky. Within days, we went from freezing utterly, to spring weather conditions and a slushfest on the roads.

Today it will be +6 as a high. Pleasant.

cheers--Sharon

Rocking out in my bunny scarf and wool hat and a vest and a long wool overcoat here in chilly Chicago USA today. Currently 11* F at the lake front... but as usual here in the windy city... it''s the wind that''ll get you.. Wind today is gusting at a nice 5 - 10 off the lake making it COLD COLD COLD.

AGBF...are you in No. VA? I''m in Maryland. I don''t know the exact temp but...it''s COLD! It''s deceiving because the sun is shining so brightly. You go outside...and the cold slaps you in the face.

I''m in NC. It was 17 degrees when I walked my son to the bus stop. One of the boys there was dressed in jeans and sweatshirt. NO HAT, NO COAT, NO GLOVES!! I asked him if he was cold, he said no. That kid must be a walking furnace!!

We''re expecting 2-4 inches of snow, changing to sleet and freezing rain. That means power outages. Brrrrrr!!

Yes, ma'am. Ah sure am. Ah've been told ah'm a damn Yankee and ah've also been told ah'm not in the South. But when ah drive to the next town the grocery clerks say, "y'all" and have impeccable manners! Sounds like the South to me!

Cloudy, windy, wet, and 54 degrees in southern Oregon.

Here in NC it was 20° F at 7AM this morning and right now it's 30°F. Thank goodness we refilled that gas for our fireplace yesterday!
It's supposed to be nasty tomorrow with snow, sleet and freezing rain. Yay.....................................

I am excited about the snow because where I am we don't see very much of it...it's the sleet and freezing rain I can do without.

I''m in Illinois, it''s ok right now. about 16 degrees farenheit. I really hate this time of year. Every winter I swear I am outta here! I dream of moving to Florida or someplace of the like. But then summer rolls around and I forget. Oh well....

Wondering if any one could top my all-time high experience with a temp. Last summer when I was in Iraq and Kuwait, it was 157 degrees farenheit one day. NO JOKE, I AM NOT KIDDING!!! It was like living in an oven, literally.

LOL!!! I totally understand. No. VA is like its own little island to me. Is it Southern or not?

It''s raining over here in S. Cali... AGAIN!!! I am soooooo rained out. I don''t think we''ve ever gotten this much rain before. But luckily, it''s still about 60 degrees so it''s not too bad. Just wet.

It's very warm here in Seattle. . .like around 50 degrees. In fact, it's SO warm that the pass where my husband snowboards has been shut down. Can you believe this happened just a few days AFTER he ordered his new snowboard? lol Poor guy. He's bummed.

Its 54 degrees and partly cloudy in the SF Bay Area.

It''s 61 degrees and partly cloudy, threatening to sprinkle (which is the worst it normally gets here in the Palm Springs area this time of year. Normal is probably 75 and nice.) It''s the summers that are rough here. Highs in the 1-teens, and lows around 99. but... it''s a dry heat
10.gif
.

weather.com, which is always wrong for my area, says 57 and partly cloudy here in the South Bay Area, when in reality it's sunny and feels more like 60-65 with a slight breeze which is neither cool nor warm but feels very nice...i was just out with the dog in the park. however, it turns chilly quickly when the sun goes down.

nothing like elsewhere though!!!
23.gif
i can still wear my flip flops to the park in the winter.
9.gif
the weather is starting to turn now though, more sunny days where you can actually feel a bit of warmth. yay...bulb time very soon!

Hewitt is amazing - he simply does not play good enough tennis to get to where he has - but boy does he have grit and determination!!!!

the Saffin Federa game was perhaps the best tennis game ever played
