Short story-

I’ve always loved Kenny’s origins asscher ring up couldn’t afford a 2.20 asscher.

Now, years later I have my 2.01 f si1 xxx and my hexagon. I’m seriously (very seriously) considering trading both rings in and getting a 2.5 carat asscher. I just love asschers, but they are tiny!

I’m looking in the 2.5carat g-h range. Vs1-vs2 no flour.

Something about the steps in this on intrigue me.

Can anyone find other alternatives? Budget would be around 23k

Thank you, kindly!

Is it your intent to trade in both diamonds with the ‘new’ diamond vendor toward the purchase of this new diamond, or sell/consign them separately on your own and put the funds toward the new diamond purchase?

If you mean the first option, that may limit which vendors you can worth with on this, as not all of them will accept trade-ins; and, if they do, they will certainly need to negotiate that as part of the overall deal, I imagine.

I didn’t even think about that! Right now I’m working with about 23k that I know I can get from selling the items to the dealer. That’s a sale price, not a trade in value.

When you say Asscher, have you considered what style?

Modern?
Royal?
Octavia?
Yoram vintage?
Stop-sign with fat windmills?

Whichever it is, I don't think you should trade what you currently have (because it is awesome :) )

My gut instinct is that you just want a new project because you neeeeed a project to be getting on with and like the anticipation of new shiny things ;))

If you really MUST have an asscher (which I can appreciate ;) ) but don't really want to sell your current ones, speak to Rhino at AVInc to see if he could get an MMD asscher cut to your spec, perhaps :)

Thank You! I actually love a traditional asscher. Every time I see one I fall in love with it. I personally prefer it more than the Octavia. The hexagon is basically like an asscher, but the asscher beats the hexagon in flashes of light hands down!

I recently sold a few pieces and now realized that with that, plus selling off the other two rings, I can reach the 2.5 carat mark (which I think I would really be able to see the steps in!)

With my long journey, I’ve learned that I’m a step cut lover.

Plus, I viewed a few traditional well cut asschers at my jewelers and they we on fire!!!

Is ‘the dealer’ whomever you end up buying the Asscher from, or some other dealer you know/work with? What I was getting at is, if you are planning/anticipating/needing to sell them to the person/company you buy an asscher from, you might need to figure out which ones are interested/open to/willing to buy them first, as not all dealers/vendors buy diamonds from consumers/accept trades.

Hope that makes sense ... what I am asking. :wavey:

Thank you! I already have prices on selling the rings separately to separate people. The loss wasn’t anything what I expected. I fell this opens the doors to buy an asscher from whatever vendor has the one I like best!

Gotcha! That is the best approach if you have buyers for them already; that’s half the battle. The other half is really the fun of finding your new diamond! :appl:

I feel like everything I have done was working up to this moment. I really love how the steps interact on the blue Nile stone. I believe my jeweler can most likely pull these in to look at, but I wanted to get opinions first! No mistakes this time!

I like this one. Nice table size for an Asscher, the steps look good, and it's an F. Asschers show more color than MRBs, so if setting in a white metal I would go for the highest color possible in your budget.

For fancy cuts, most vendors offer ASETs. Ask these vendors if you can get the ASET images for these stones. As long as they're mostly green, red and blue with minimal white, then you're good to go!
