There are pretty much 2 camps on three stone rings: smaller sides so the center stands out as the star of the show - or - larger sides so the three stones contribute more equally and the sides have more presence. Normally, I prefer option 2 - but not in this instance (ie a wrap design).
And I think the sides set with 3 prongs look smashing! Do you have a rough timeframe till this is completed? I'm currently waiting on a pair of earrings, but it will probably be two more weeks yet, and I'll be climbing the walls by then!!
Definitely enjoying this journey with you!
Good morning, @msop04
My 3 stone had a (roughly) 9.35mm center (ergo smaller than yours) and 6.35mm sides (ergo larger than your 6mm sides iteration). I would defy ANYone to say that ring wasn't aesthetically pleasing!!
The sides provide more balance to the center stone, but I don't believe it falls into 'wall of bling' territory - which always makes the look sound slightly vulgar and garish to me.
So here's my COTT (Cards On The Table) moment: when this 3 stone variation is done, you will already HAVE a solitaire. What's the point in doing a second ring where it's basically another solitaire - with accent sides? Isn't the whole design so you can have more variation? If you WANT to be able to add accents to the sides of what is essentially a solitaire - and also remove them at will - then do smaller sides. But if you want a whole other look, I'd go back to considering the 6mm sides. But I would make very, very sure they can be sufficiently angled without it producing a gap between center and sides, and I *would* consider lifting the center so the sides can be more tucked in - even if it means remodeling the center to make it possible.
So I've now done a 180 - but ONLY providing it's possible from a design perspective.
Three Stone Sisters - ROCK ON!

SPOT. ON.
Your three stone ring was the epitome of of all three stones… perfection. Everything you said is how I’m feeling! I have a solitaire… It is my preference, after all. This wrap is to be for fun and more bling, so I guess I’ll just have to do myself a solid and have the bling! Thanks for the perspective and vote of confidence, @mrs-b!!
It’s looking like the 6’s are in the lead!!
I agree with this. I usually prefer 3 stones where the side stones play more of an accent stone role, but in your case, since it’s a wrap, if it’s feasible I’d go for the larger sides. Might as well as make both looks as distinct as po
@msop04 - for what this is worth - one day I'll change my Beloved solitaire into Beloved x 3. I intend to add sides of a very similar proportion to what I had in my 3 stone - so the proportions will be more or less identical - but the overall weight will be bigger.
I'm a substantial woman with a substantial presence. I was done trying to hide, fit in, be discreet, or not draw attention to myself so as not to draw the disapproval of others years ago. Life is too short. You can be classy, elegant - even understated in your style - and still have a honking big ring. Rock it, girl!
Would love to see profile pictures and the rings separate. Enjoy your Vacation!
