I bought my dream padparadscha

In your first post, I think you mentioned having a few pink sapphires.
Because of that -
And with how I see your pictures on my monitor
I think I’d choose the white metal.
From what I see - the yellow gold accentuates the pink in the stone.

But, I don’t think your stone has much leakage to pick up color from metal right behind it in basket area. You are doing a halo (swoon!! ) so those white diamonds will mostly be next to the stone, not the metal.
So I don’t think the metal color choice will impart much, like a setting that had more metal next to stone than diamond.

I walked around for days trying to decide metal color for my peach sapphire, with the stone perched on different color chains. (I know, not a pad) but yeah. I can understand what you are going through.
Took tons of pictures to ponder over. But had to stop. Pictures couldn’t convey the color play between the stone/metal accurately and then factor in the stones color shift of different lighting…….

Yours is going to be gorgeous either way!
Can’t wait to see where it takes you :)

Maybe two tone ring?

Just saw this thread and my heavens, what a lovely color in that sapphire! I see why pads are so highly prized and I think you have one of the nicest ones I've seen..
I have a couple sapphires, nothing very expensive, but what enchants me is the way the light moves up and down the stone when it moves even a few degrees. This sapphire will be amazing in whatever setting you choose and it will enchant you with how it moves the light.

Small update - it's currently with CvB and will begin the official design process soon. Had some real life going-ons so I sent it out pretty late, hence the delay.

I did get a good look at it in yellow gold before I sent it though!

Personally, I love it. I'm really leaning towards full YG instead of two tone. Thoughts?

I noticed I called her CVD instead of CvB in my earlier comment, don't tell her.
I can't wait to see design progress!
* I'm not sure yet about metal choice...but I always personally go for yellow/rose...

Soooo pretty!!! Normally not a fan of peaches/pinks but this may change my mind!

So the general consensus, as I understand it, is that orange-leaning pads benefit from YG, because it makes the stone appear more pink, and pink-leaning pads are better complimented by rose gold, because the pink tones in the gold bring out the orange in the pad. Pads with a more even split of orange vs. pink (or with a more robust saturation) look great in every metal. I feel like your pad has such strong color that it can stand alone in any metal. But, personally, I would go with a yellow gold basket/prongs and white gold or platinum for everything else. Truthfully, it's such a gorgeous stone, that it will shine in any metal or mounting!

Late update, but it's currently in production. Here's the CAD!

The engraving will be added later, but it'll be all down the shank. Really looking forward to seeing the finished product!

I love it so much that I want to wear it everywhere lol. I would, too, but I have no idea how expensive it looks to people who don't know a lot about gems, and I don't want it to be something that catches people's eyes a little too much on vacation and such. Anyway though, yeah, sorry the update took so long!

The the great thing about colored stones is that most people really don't have any idea what stone they're looking at, all they see is that it's beautifully made. For travel; of course it depends on locale, in some rare cases it's best to not wear anything of real intrinsic value. It's easy to see why you love it, it turned out fabulously. I would be wearing that ring any chance I had!

Oh, it’s beautiful!! :kiss2: I’m glad you remembered to come back and share pics. I love how the yellow gold accentuates the gorgeous color of your pad. What a delicious combo.

It's simply gorgeous! Congratulations!

Yasss! The stone looks so happy in her new dress!! The etching on the band takes it to the next level. Enjoy it!!
