Woohoo! Congratulations from another Mila bride-to-be!! When you posted your pics of the other MS dresses, I sort of wondered why you hadn''t tried on the Mila! I know exactly how you feel about this dress...i had absolutely no intentions of buying a dress the day I went into the salon. But when i put this dress on, I knew it was the one. My mom was with me and I turned to her and it was like okay, guess we should get it and not bother going to any other shops.

Congratulations!!
 
did you choose ivory or white? just wondering!

I just responded to your other thread, voting for that one (I saw the other thread first). Having seen these pictures, however, I''d have to say that this dress is beautiful on you! As others have said, it seems perfect for you and you look stunning!

And about the whole resizing thing, I''m still losing weight know (lost 30 pounds so far, hoping to add another 30 to that). So hopefully my dress will have to be resized with at least 2/3 sizes by the time I''m going to pick it up. I have a Vera Wang and the bridal salon ensured me that with my fabric this could easily be done. And taking it in is always possible (according to her) for at least 1 size, letting out not. So be glad that they ordered ur dress somewhat larger. It''s gonna work out perfectly and you will look amazing!

And if I were you, just go back and take some extra pics!! And share of course

Sunnygirl--We have nearly-the-same engagement rings AND the same wedding dress? I''m thinking our taste must be very similar. I''m so happy to have a dress twin on PS! I ordered the Mila in the diamond white, but to be honest I didn''t see much diffrence between the ivory and the white. I look much better in white, though, so I just went with that. What color is yours?

Dutchgirl--Thank you! More important, CONGRATULATIONS on losing so much weight, it sounds like you are working hard, you should be very proud of yourself. I don''t know if I have it in me to lose 30 lbs, which would definitely be my goal, but I''m hoping to lose 10 to 15 by the wedding. Oh, and I am definitely going to go back and take real pictures to share!

I also ordered the white but I agree it wasn''t a super white white which is good. How tall are you? You look tall, you lucky girl. I am short (5''2") and am hoping that things work out with the measurements - they are making the hollow to the drop waist part 2.5 inches shorter for me. I hope thats enough and I dont look like I have stumpy legs!

That dress is absolutely perfect on you, I loved the Lia and this one has the same feel with just a little more fun - it looks like the bottom of the dress has more folds of material than the Lia, or am I imagining things? That was my favorite part of trying on mermaid dresses...walking in them was so fun, how the material just makes this perfect wave in front of you when you kick your foot out to take a step forward. And, it is a bit more interesting and different than the Lia with the pretty flowers on the side. If this had been one of the choices, I think everyone would have voted for it in your last post!!

I have spent SO much time looking at that dress! I find it sort of hollywood glamour. It''s the kind of dress I would love to have if I could grow about 5-6 inches taller. You look fabulous in it! That''s the way that dress was meant to be worn! Congrats!

I have been without power for a few days here in Northern California, and when I saw your other dress post and then couldn''t respond, I was sooooo frustrated!!! I personally did not like ANY of the dresses you posted earlier, but I LOVE this one on you! Even with the poor cell phone pictures, you can totally tell that it IS the right one for you! It looks absolutely fantastic on your body, and you will definitely rock it on your wedding day!

I am so happy that your dress drama is over, and you can relax knowing you have THE dress on its way to your hot little hands! I can''t wait to see better pictures of you in it!

Sunny--I''m sure you look fabulous in your dress! I doubt that anyone could look "stumpy" in this dress, it is made so well.
I''m a bit over 5''9" so the length is perfect for me, in fact I was told that the Mila is the longest-cut Melissa Sweet dress, so I didn''t need any extra length. If I had chosen any of the others I liked I would have had to order extra length, so that''s good. I''m a bit worried about the size I ordered, like I said I ordered a 10 because that''s the size I need for the bust, but the rest of me is an 8. I hope the alterations don''t ruin the overall look of the dress. I have to say that as a freakishly tall person (not really, I know) dress shopping has been the ONLY clothing experience I''ve ever had where everything is long enough on me, it''s very exciting! I''m sure you have the opposite problem where things are always too long, whenever I find clothes I love they''re always too short!

Karasue--This dress does have more folds of material at the bottom, good eye! I loved walking around in the Mila, I felt so regal in it. I loved the Lia as well, I tried it on the day I found the Mila, but the girls at the salon cautioned me against it because the material gets creases across the stomach after a day of sitting and walking around in it. I loved the Mila more anyway, but that detail about the Lia worried me a bit.

Harleigh--I''m sorry to hear you were without power, I''m so glad it''s back! You know, now that I look back at those original pictures I don''t know what I was thinking, I don''t like any of those dresses anymore! Especially the Carrie! (The Tallulah is pretty, though, I admit.) So I''m really glad I didn''t get any of them.

which is about ten times a day!

I can''t believe I missed your engagement thread...LIW I rarely visit...(as I am neither ...ha ha). You are such a beauty!! As is that amazingly creative and thoughtful finance of yours! That proposal was so perfect for you! I love the bookmark engraving. He really put a lot of thought into that! I realize it was back in September and I am a tad late...but please accept my congratulations and excitement for you!

I would like to point out something...in your story...that rings a bell with me. I think you may be encouraged to learn that you are going to have a most rewarding and happy marriage. How do I know this you ask, by learning only of the proposal? Well, I know it because your finance asks you BEFORE he throws things away! Woo HOO!! Cohesive happiness comes in many ways...that my dear is the most important.

The MILA is a beautiful dress and I am so glad you have discovered THE dress for your special day. Even from cell phone camera shots, it is easy to see how happy you look in it! What I like is that the dress''s style allows YOU stand out, but seems to retain details you were looking for. Congrats!
