So, don''t ask me how I know this, but my ring... is done!!!! I had originally guesstimated that it would be done on Tuesday but it was done yesterday!!! It is so exhilirating to know that an engagement could literally happen any time now!!!! My head is spinning. It didn''t really feel very real until now!!!

Apparently the ring is "amazing." I cannot wait to see it for myself and be engaged to my bf!!! I know that he won''t do until after he takes the bar (or maybe that''s just what he wants me to believe??) but he''ll finish that on Thursday.

Oh man, oh man!!! I don''t know how I''m going to be able to concentrate on anything!! I feel like I''ve been on the LIW list forever though, so it''s about time!!

Yay Seattle!! So how DO you know it''s done??

haha I bet it is absolutely gorgeous and I hope your bf just CAN''T wait to give it to you soon!!! Make sure you have your camera ready -- I cannot wait to see this one!

Haha, Sk8erjen!! I will never tell!! Let's just say that I maybe should be working for the FBI and not Nordstrom!

I hope he's just as excited as I am. I feel like I have ants in my pants I'm so excited. And it's nice to hear that someone is excited to see my ring too!!! (and hopefully excited to hear my story!!)

So as I get a little ahead of myself, I am thinking that early September 2007 might be a good time to get married (married!!!) but an older cousin of mine has thrown a bit of a wrench into my thinking. He just got engaged and they have decided to get married next June. He was already married once (that wedding was 5 years ago or so) but she hasn't, so it will be a big affair. Why does this matter? Well, he also lives in Seattle but most of our family doesn't. Our family members live on modest incomes and would be traveling from Montana for a wedding. I don't think that most of them could afford the time or money to come out here twice in the same 4-month time frame for weddings.

All I'm saying is that I'd be quite disappointed if a bunch of my family came out here for his wedding (since, in my thinking, it would come first) and then not come to mine. All of my family is really close, but there is really only so much traveling people can afford. Am I being selfish? Like I said, I'm getting ahead of myself.

My head is just spinning because of this whole ring situation!!! I'm overthinking this whole deal.... I just can't believe that it could be anytime!!!

I can''t imagine how "antsy" you are at this point!!! You will definitely have to divulge how you came across you information once you are engaged --- it sounds like a great story there!!!

Glad you came back the forum after your brief hiatus. Best of luck for a quick wait --- I think men like to throw us off with their "deadlines"!!! Can''t wait to see it!!!

Seattle! Yay! I am so excited for you, and I can''t wait to see your gorg. ring, and hear the story!!!

Yay! I hope it happens soon for you-I cant wait to see the pics

How exciting! Hope it''s soon!

ooh! I hope it''s SOON! Like tonight would be nice, right? Good luck to you and your boy! And don''t get sick on the day he plans for, either!

Yea!!! I can''t wait to see your name removed from the list!!! You''ve definitely put in your time!!!

Awww! Thanks guys!! It''s really good to hear from you Amber!! I hope your lovely radiant still makes you soon everytime you see it.

I can''t wait. Well, it wasn''t last night, but I can tell you, he decided to "study" downtown yesterday for the Bar ... for the first time ever. Funny... the place he decided to study is a half a block away from the jeweler ...coinsidence? I''m guessing not. I did my nails last night just in case.

Now that Bar is right around the corner, it probably won''t happen until its over ... but that will be Thursday night!!

I keep thinking about my ring and the setting I chose. I sometimes get panicked that it won''t look near as pretty with a white stone in it (that is over a carat less in weight) than it does with that honking gorgeous 2.67 canary diamond that''s in it now.

Well, I will definitely keep you posted. I feel like the wait has been kind of dull the last couple of months until now!!!

You all realize that I''ll end of posting a TON of photos, you guys won''t know what do with them them all!!! Unless the thing is ugly ... ahh!! What if its ugly??? (Calm down, it will be amazing.....)

Still wiggiling around with ants in my pants. Good thing I was a drama major in college, it''s hard not to let him know that I know.

ooh -- got my fingers crossed for ya!

At least you are after me on the list so I won''t move up yet another spot - LOL!

Hopefully all the rest of us top 20 gals will get off the list soon!!!

And your ring is going to be GORGEOUS with your white stone in it - stop worrying!!!!!

And I''m sorry about your cousin situation...I had a similar thing happen with my brother getting engaged (surprise!) about 2 months before me, and choosing our intended month, AND exact HOUSE to get married in, so I ended up pushing it a whole YEAR later
39.gif
) But I think three months later should be fine, if the weddings are different enough! Just make sure you send out save the dates before your cousin''s RSVP date so people can pick which one to go to if they can only do one!

But I''m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!! Can''t WAIT for the big news!!!!!!

Thanks Albi!! It''s good to hear from you! Thanks for jogging my memory about your brother''s wedding situation. I really don''t think I could wait another year ... (that''s more than 2 years from now!!)

And Cailet, I''m cheering for all you top 20, you guys are the only ones that understand how I feel about being on list list for such a long time ... having moments, like, hey, that girl was only on the list for a week and she''s engaged while what? I''ve been on the list 8+months!!!??? When I mention what number I am on the list to my bf, he''s like "Good, you''re almost #1!!" and I have to yelp "that''s not the goal!!"

Right now he''s at day 2 of the Washington State Bar Law Exam ... and tomorrow will be day 3. After that, he''ll have nothing but time to plan a proposal!!! I hope he doesn''t procrastinate!!!

YAY Seattle!

Us top 20''s do need to stick together!! Eeeek, any time now- how exciting girl!! We''ll all be checking the boards oodles of times to see your "take me off the list" posting- Yipppeee!!

Seattle,
What great news!! Hopefully doing something as un-fun as taking the bar will inspire him to do something wonderful like proposing w/no delays.
How exciting!

I totally agree with you caligirl! We do have to stick together. There''s no way I ever thought I''d be on the list this long, especially when my bf asked me to go ring shopping around Thanksgiving. I guess I''ve gotten to read a lot of wonderful stories along the way ...

Aww, what a positive way to look at things! I''ve loved reading the other proposals and happy gleeful moments, too. It''s funny how you identify so quickly with so many people, of such different personalities and points of view, and still, this one common *interest* for lack of a better term, brings you together to the point of considering people here to be friends.

I''ll miss this place a TON if I ever get to the point where I get to say, "It''s time to remove me from the list." In fact, I doubt I''ll leave very soon, because I''ll want to read how others'' stories turned out, and stuff like that.

This site is just too much fun!

I''m thinking about you today, Miss Seattle!! It''s Thursday, and thus, the end of his stress with the exams, right???

Happy happy vibes to you, girl!

Thanks fisher!! You're right, he is now DONE with the BAR!!! Yay!!!

However, I'm throwing a bit of a pity party for myself right now. I was sooo excited to be able to see him tonight and was absolutely thrilled to go to Happy Hour with him, but then he ditched me to go out with his law school buddies. I really wish significant others had been invited out too because we have something to celebrate as well. But it was I was told that I couldn't go. So here he is, finally done and I still don't get to spend any time with him .... and he's going to a bachelor party this weekend in a town 2 1/2 hours away. Great.

So I'm a little bummed out right now and I'm looking for some cheering up, perhaps some posts that are fun and positive, unlike this lame post. So much for a proposal this weekend. He'll be out celebrating bachelorhood.

Oh Seattle, I''m sorry he''s beng a bit of a s**t. If it makes you feel any better, I broke my office chair. Broke the back right off. It was pretty hilarious, although my boss didn''t think so when he fell out of it!

Aww, I''m sorry for the letdown.

I''m living it this weekend, too.

The good news is, though, that sometimes we do get surprises we don''t see coming

Even if we don''t, this weekend, we both have great guys, even if they sometimes *suck* at delivering what we expect, and they''re prepared and ready, and it''s going to happen soon!

I''m sorry you''re bummed. I fear this weekend will be a rough one for me, too. Grr on it all. At least there''s more time to dream and hope and anticipate. I really have gotten to where it''s fun to think about it, and be thankful for it. Then I get really grry again, like, "yeah, here I am all excited, without a clue of *when* anything''s going on."

I hear ya, girl. But I''m sure he''ll make time to celebrate with you, too.

I am literally laughing out loud!! You are the best Amber!! Thanks for letting me have a little chuckle at you and your bosses expense. You are awesome.

What I meant to say is, are you and your boss okay?

(still giggling)

Well, Seattle, that just sucks. I mean, it''s good he has friends he wants to hang with and I''m sure they''re all relieved to be done with the bar, but stiiiiiilllllll. I think I''d be a bit sad/ticked off too. Maybe he''ll surprise you though, you never know...

I have nothing fun adn updeat to report as I have been sick in bed most of today and had to cancel lessons for this afternoon and tomorrow morning. My chest feels like it has a brick on it.
7.gif
But I''m still crossing my fingers for you, it''s gonna be soon!

jen

Just saying hi is enough jen! I hope you feel better soon, no immediately!!!

And thanks for the finger crossing, who knows when he''ll get his act together, but I surely hope it is soon!!!!! I''m really hoping that I''ll be engaged before my birthday, but it definitely better not happen on my birthday. He knows better.

When is your birthday, Seattle?

And I do hope your weekend has its own perks! He''ll want to celebrate a few times, I''m sure. The bar is a big thing!!

Well fisher, he''ll be celebrating my good friend Mike''s last days as an unmarried man. We are going to that wedding on August 5 - so that rules out next weekend ( I refuse to be upstaged by a bride ... especially when I am friends with the groom!)

And then my birthday is the weekend after on the 12th. So that is 3 weekends completely ruled out. Then there is one weekend before we leave for Costa Rica and he won''t do it there because he doesn''t want anything to happen to the ring there or on the way there. I''m soooo bummed out! When you have been on the list as long as I have, or any of the top 20, seeing people get removed left and right after a month, or a week ... its hard to stay patient and optimistic.

Sorry I''m being so lame about this. I was just really looking forward to some good quality time with him that I haven''t had since Memorial Day.

Seattle, psh.. don''t even be guilty about feeing bad about this! Paul works a lot- he hasn''t been home before 10pm in weeks. And when he gets home, he wants to go to bed because he has to wake up at 5am to go BACK to work . And I know all this work is so he can save more money for the wedding. But all I hear is: "I''m coming home, just so I can go to bed.. Nice to see you for 30 minutes!" I am the ungratefulest of all ungrateful brats!

Sending you happy thoughts for the proposal to come soon!!

Maybe we should create some sort of support group Amber. Things should be great for the next few months, but once my bf starts working at his law firm, oh, man I''ll be lucky to see him for even that long. We can be radiant buddies (if I ever get mine, the ring has been done for a week!!) AND ''work widows''!!!! Oh brother.

Seattle, that''s so funny that you said that about work widows, my fiance is a coach/teacher, and every weekend there is something sporty, as well as almost every day! So, my dad calls me a sports widow, since he''s always gone! In fact, this Sunday he leaves for a week to work a beach volleyball tourney. Wheeeee... Our honeymoon will actually be the ONE week we have free between the football and basketball seasons. So we get married November 3rd, get a free night at the hotel and then go back to work on Monday- a few WEEKS later, when football is done, we''re going on honeymoon. Ain''t love grand?
