I'm partial to small weddings as well. As of now (and I suppose this decision can't be considered final until FF completely agrees lol), I'm thinking of an elopement package with a venue a couple blocks from our apartment. The place is gorgeous (I catered there once). You can have up to 10 guests, and it includes the ceremony, flowers, and a professional photographer. I figured we could have a few people and go straight to dinner afterwards. Then the following weekend, throw a party for everyone else. That way I don't have to be a huge center of attention while I'm actually getting married (freaks me out! I don't even celebrate my birthday with more than 3 people lol). I'm a nervous wreck about everything at this point.
Ladies, I cannot emphasize how wonderful it is to either elope or have a very small wedding! You can manage the details so easily, and splurge on things that would cost a lot more if you were doing it for a crowd, and there is an intimacy that is so romantic! We have no regrets about eloping...in fact anytime we see a wedding on TV we both look at each other and say, "thank god we didn''t do that!" If that''s what you want, go for it, it''s about you two getting married...Date: 4/22/2008 6:07:57 PM

If it were up to just me, that is so the type of wedding I would also want. I broached this very topic with FI a while back and told him that I think 10 guests would be good, and he just about freaked out.
