I FINALLY found my scent!! :) What's yours?

I have a sensitivity to fragrances so a lot of wonderful scents don't work for me. I wish I could wear Je Reviens; that would be my signature fragrance but I'm allergic to something in it. Right now I rotate between several rollerballs -- Stella by Stella McCartney, and Kiehl's Essence Oil in Amber and in Vanilla. And an old drugstore favorite I always keep on hand is Skin Musk body spray by Bonne Belle.

It's funny how long a bottle will hold it's scent, even after the perfume is gone. My grandmother wore a certain perfume as long as I can remember and when my grandfather passed (he had kept the bottle), I asked if I could have the bottle. Every so often, I'll open it up and it's like she's giving me a hug.

I love this. I sniff Vaseline Intensive Care lotion and Ponds Cold Creme to remember my grandma. Scent is such a strong memory.

not nearly as sophisticated as the rest of you here BUT just got this spray for x-mas from bath & body works and I LOVE IT!...

dark kiss.

mmmm.... i think i've also just found my scent!

I have my grandpa's aftershave (drugstore stuff) in my nightstand. I pull it out close my eyes take a whiff and I swear I can feel his hand holding mine. ((HUGS))

The first perfume I ever loved, and still do, is Anais Anais. I don't wear it anymore but it's the 'proto-arch-fume' hehe. I have a collection of 'fumes now and find it hard to isolate just one, but at a pinch it's Sa Majeste La Rose (Serge Lutens). It's true tea-rose, gaiac wood, honey and greenery. /Runs off to find bottle :)

I love perfumes and exploring new scents. I love the way fragrance can evoke thoughts, fantasies and memories and the way it can comfort and cheer you. I wear different perfumes depending on my mood and what I will be doing at the time.

My very favorite perfume is Tihota by Indult. A rich and creamy vanilla with a slight hint of musk. Truly delicious and sophisticated.

The other perfumes I wear often are Vaniglia del Madagascar by Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561,
Vanitas by Profumum, Montale's Vanilla Extasy, Parfumerie Generale Felanilla, By Kilian Straight to Heaven and lastly I like to borrow my dh's Green Irish Tweed by Creed. GIT is a lovely, clean, fresh, woodsy and debonair scent that is sweet too. And wearing it makes me happy even though it is marketed as a man's scent.

I love them all and there are many others but these are the ones making the rotations most frequently in my fragrance wardrobe currently.

Egyptian Musk

The only perfume I have been able to consistently wear for years is J'Adore Dior. I have several other rollerballs I use on occasion (Givenchy Very Irresistible is a favorite), but they just can't compare to J'Adore in the long term. I love how I can spray it once on my neck in the morning, get little whiffs of it throughout the day, and at night, my husband can still smell it faintly when he hugs me. He always tells me it reminds him of our first vacation together in Hawaii. To me, it just smells like *me*, but boy, does my heart melt when he says that.

Scent is such a powerful trigger for memories. The smell of tempera paints takes me immediately back to my preschool and how I felt when I was there. The smell of anyone peeling an orange reminds me of my mother at our kitchen table, eating her daily orange. Acqua di Gio for Men will forever remind me of my high school crush (we dated for all of a month or so) and how attractive he was to my 15-year-old self (not so much anymore, unfortunately--thanks, Facebook).

I love fresh fruity and floral scents but for a perfume to wear all the time I tend to go towards the stronger more heady types

My scent in high school and through uni was Chloe Narcisse (my sister used to wear it as well and it makes me think of her) but not in summer then I would wear something like Dolce Vita or J'adore because it was lighter

Now and what I wore on my wedding day is Flowerbomb - the one that has the vanilla/raspberry smell not the citrusey one, when I first sprayed it I thought it stuck like could not stand it but then I kept getting little wiffs of it as it settled and I feel in LOVE.

There have been a few re-formulations of Je Reviens over the years. The one that was about in the 1980s and 90s brings me out in a lumpy rash, but the more recent formulation is fine on me, as is the vintage. Also, there's a body spray, EDP and EDT versions as well as pure perfume. If you really love it, might be worth trying a tiny spot of different versions to see if there's one you can tolerate.

My mother and grandmother both wore it and to me, it's what perfume smells like. :))

Mine is Pure White Linen from Estee Lauder.

My husband is nuts for it, and I've had numerous men actually ask me what I'm wearing because they like it.

Holly, that was the first real perfume I had. My mother bought it for me when I turned 16. It's still one of my favourites.

I have several:

Original Chloe
Bulgari Rose
Highland Lilac

I also love Amarige by givenchy (not sure why I stopped wearing it) hmmm, might have to get me some soon again.

I wore Amarige every single day in high school and college! Then one day, I had a reaction to a bottle that had gone bad, and I stopped wearing it. But every time I smell it on someone else I remember how much I really loved that fragrance.

I don't think I could ever go back to having one signature scent. I like having different fragrances for different seasons or time of day. Recently, I've been alternating between Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile, Miss Dior Cherie (I got a huge free sample of it from Sephora, but it's a little too sweet for me), and Chanel No. 5 EDP.

It mellows out into this warm spicy sexy fragrance on me. I smell sexier than I look! I guess it's perfect for my body chemistry.

JenniferW - thank you so much for the info about the reformulations of Je Reviens... I did not know it had changed, but it was in the 90s that I had my allergic reaction so maybe there's hope. I will definitely try out samples - I will be so happy if it works for me now :)

Mine is D&G Light Blue - discovered it about four years ago and have loved it since then.

I like a combo spray of Burberry Weekend, Burberry Brit and BVLGARI BLV.

PS all for men

Oh, I really hope you find a version that works for you! It's a real classic and one of my all time favourites. It's worth stalking ebay for different formulations- if you're struggling to find what you're after, try ebay UK and France. Good luck!

LOL! I do love this one, it's very sexy indeed. It's something I think of as a 'grown-up woman' scent, without any of the sweet, sugary or outright girlish notes I so dislike in fragrance.

I'm totally inconsistent with actually remembering to wear perfume, but quite consistent in what I choose to wear.

Daytime - A Scent by Issey Miyake
Night - Hermes Caleche

For my wedding day I wore the floral limited edition of A Scent and absolutely love that too, so have been wearing that for going out, both daytime and night-time.

My first signature scent was Nocturne, which was discontinued. A few years later, I fell in love with Lalique and it was discontinued. I now use several scents:

Winter - London by Burberry or a perfume I can't remember the name of (comes in an amazing shell shaped bottle)
Summer - Dali or Burberry Weekend
Evening - Le Baiser by Lalique (a bottle I hoard)

Summer-L'occitane green tea
The rest of the year-Vera Wang (the original scent)

When I was in college and the first few years after college my scent was Clinique happy (the original one). DH still thinks of me when he smells it

without a doubt

Dior, Miss Cherie

Chanel Chance eau fraiche
or Chanel Coco, both versions
I used to also wear Calyx by Prescriptives until discontinued.

I just got some Calyx from JC Penny for my mom for Christmas, she's been wearing it many many years. I think it's a very limited supply but they still make it. It's sold out on their website but I can usually find it in store. It has been dwindling lately, I do hope that it hangs in there and sticks around, otherwise I'll have to find a new gift for mom :)
