The shoes sound pretty! Maybe its all the different shades of blue that is confusing me ... teal shoes, cobalt jacket, blue topaz bracelet, two different blue rings -- and now ... more blue?

I think sticking to silver or white metals tones with crystals or diamonds is going to give you a richer red carpet look. But red carpet is big flashy fashion pieces ... not pass down to future generation sentimental pieces. You''re trying to achieve contradictory goals. Maybe that''s why its proving difficult.

Does it HAVE to become an heirloom? That''s a lot of pressure on you to pick out something lasting vs. what goes w/the rest of the outfit. For instance I think that Tiff DBY aqua would just get L-O-S-T. That *nothing* would be a better choice than something tiny & casual like that. Even if you had a larger one made - its a casual style. Not "red carpet".

The shoes better sound pretty! I''m psycho about shoes and all....

I am the only person who will be wearing any blue besides FI. He will likely (not set in stone yet) be wearing a blue shirt under his dark gray suit. I believe the shirt in question is French Blue. I will also be the only person not wearing black/gray. My MOH is wearing a black satin knee length dress with black heels that are reminiscent of my SWs. I can post pics of those too...

I''m leaning towards using those two big white (silver) topazes in a necklace. Perhaps I''ll toss in the silvery tourmaline baguette I have too.

I''m not set in stone on wearing the bracelet. When he bought it for me he said, "This is for Fancy Liz. The necklace I got you last year was Regular Liz." And I don''t do fancy very often.

It doesn''t have to be heirloom. I personally would like something I can wear again. We''re not planning on having kids, so if they are getting passed down, it will be to my brother''s kids, and they really aren''t that cool. However, it''s one reason I''m leaning towards natural gems instead. BUT I also don''t have a huge budget, so I''m thinking silver is going to be the metal of choice.

And this is why I haven''t bought the Tiff Aqua. We agree on that for sure. (Amongst the blue it wouldn''t even stand out! And when I''m not wearing the blue, it probably still won''t. Maybe I''ll just ask for one for Christmas! For "Regular Liz".)

Oh and I was going to say that I'll be the only one wearing any blue, but there will be a tiny bit of blue in that the bouquets will be tied with bright blue ribbon. Mine will just be a bigger version of my MOH's. White roses.

And I love blue. Shoes, gemmies and blue. Teals fall under the blue category. Let me find that picture of my living room pillows...

Ok, well this isn't that pic, but it does have some of my pillows in it, and my dress (as well as the CR shoes...its the one in the middle).

ETA: and the pillow to the bottom right hand corner is just about the same color as the shrug/jacket thing.

ETAA: the little white spot in the middle of the dress, with the tiny blue one above is the 4.45ct white topaz. With the 2.55ct blue zircon above it.

Lets hope Regular Liz has been very, very good this year!

Have you posted a pix of the bracelet ... I know you said you weren''t set on it, but it would inform earring/necklace decisions if you were thinking about it.

All the blues look pretty together. Don''t think its a matter of that ... Just in *adding* to the mix, more neutral stones seems prudent. White topaz or silver topaz set in silver could work. Having a hard time envisioning it. A lot of the pendants people are having made on Etsy are casual things - not wedding jewelry, yanno? And what takes a set of three stones from simple to Red Carpet. I can''t figure that out. I saw a pretty larat necklace today that could look stunning with that dress & be more R.C.-ish ... but it was yellow gold ... and thousands of dollars. LOL! How''s that for heirloom! Ain''t happening in my budget I''ll tell you that much!

So I think the necklace will be AWESOME, but that''s cause I was there for it''s creation

Not to mention, NO ONE is listening to the fact that the little bolero will not be worn for the ceremony. If your hair is down, the earrings won''t be so noticeable, but the necklace will be. I don''t think it will be too much "stuff". Not to mention, I think you should do what you want, not what we want lol.

Oh, I've been a goody two shoes!

Ok, the bracelet. These were taken a long time ago on my old (GHETTO) camera. It didn't have macro. So it's light sky blue.

Since Aimee let the cat out of the bag, the necklace was designed today. It has the 2 white/silver topaz supernova ovals and the silvery blue/green tourmaline baguette. The smaller topaz is on top, the baguette in between, and the big topaz on bottom. All N/S. They will all have 4 prongs, and the metal will be minimal. They will have a link or two in between so that they all move, but the goal is to have them look almost like they are floating there without anything suspending them. Very delicate.

What do you think of this plan?

ETA: this is being made locally, no etsy for this project. And here is a link to pics of the white topaz and another thread about this same subject. Link

(And the tourmaline is the big one in the top right corner.)

(And the White topaz. Which can't be done justice with cameras. They are BRIGHT in real life, nut the dull gray which is the result of the black camera.)

oh WOW!!!! check out those jewels!! can''t wait to see the final product!!

Sorry to chime in so late!! I loved the original necklace ideas from your previous thread Freke, and I can''t wait to see how this one will turn out!! It will be spectacular, and just the right burst of colour with the blue baguette, IMO. I think you can get away with more ''neck glamour'' when it comes to strapless dresses. I had always planned on NO necklace with my strapless gown, and two days before the wedding day I plopped a necklace on whilst wearing my dress, just for fun... the ''no necklace'' look was then far too bare for me!!

I reckon it will look perfect with some largish round or oval white topaz or CZ studs. Just a little bit of bling to peek through the waves in your hair, but not be too much with the necklace.

I''m thinking about asking my dad for a pair of diamond studs when I graduate. Nothing big, just a little somethin'' somethin''! We''ll see if he pulls through with that or not.

As for the necklace, I saw it today...most of it anyway. The topazes have been set, and the tourmaline has a setting, and all that''s left (I chose the chain for it today) is to solder the chain to the gem settings.

So I was poking around, and turns out the total carat weight for this necklace is going to be 13.76cts. Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yowza, that''s a lot...

Love your wedding dress...love every decision you''ve made in this thread.

Okay, if you''re going for more red carpet than bridal, then you need at least one BIG showpiece. Personally, I would go for a big gemstone cuff, but it will likely compete with your RHR.

Why not do both an updo and a down do. Have it up like that really cute Lauren photo, with some gorgeous big bling earrings. Keep the necklace simple or don''t wear one at all. Since small earrings aren''t going to really show up in photos unless they are up close, I would go with something more conspicuous with an updo. Then, put it down and wear small earrings, and put on a blingy necklace post ceremony.

If you''ve ever seen Platinum Brides, these girls go with a tiara, big earrings, big necklace, and a dress with crystals and beading. You won''t be overdone. Plus, you''re in Vegas - if you don''t bling out, there will be other girls walking down the Strip who will!!!

So, go for it!

Freke, I just gotta say that I absolutely adore your dress. I also loved that grey fur wrap (I''ll take it off of your hands if you don''t want it!), but I''m glad that you found the bolero. Can''t wait to see the necklace.

Hey Liz,

I''ve only just seen this thread as I almost never pop into BW&GG. Sounds like you''ve finally got the necklace organised, I can''t wait to see it.

Are the earrings still up for debate? If so I''d like to suggest some silvery blue mabé pearls or maybe cortez pearls. I also like the idea of a loose "Up-do" for your hair.

If my earring idea interests you at all (no worries if it doesn''t), I''ll go looking for you.

No doubt about it though, you''re going to look sensational!

I''m going to wait until it gets closer, and to see the necklace before I made any decisions about hair...thanks for your input!!

Your idea of the pearls does intrigue me, so if you''d like to look, please feel free!

Wish I could offer some sort of helpful advice, but I am rubbish with accessories.

There is not a shred of doubt in my mind about how you will look on your wedding day, though, my dear--absolutely stunning!

i think a tear drop pearl would be beautiful with your gown. it would have luster to equal your dress, which is gorgeous.

Liz, I know you have sorted your necklace, but incase you need a "Plan B" .....
