I''ve gone through about 3 waffle makers. The current one is a T-fal (brand new and approx. $40)... as my grandma would say, "It''s slower than molasses!" It is very, very slow and doesn''t cook them consistently... one waffle is dark brown, another light brown, yet another falling apart.

ANY recommendations for one that makes good waffles? I don''t care if it''s $20 or $120... I just need one that works!

We have a George Foreman grill... the kind with removable plates (might be called a G5???)... and it makes waffles. We love it! They always turn out nice and even.

ETA: Ours is semi-slow... maybe that's just a feature of all waffle-makers? It's not so slow that I feel myself going gray while they cook though...

Here's ours (basically - this one is a newer model), but this one is updated a little bit to have a heat adjuster:

We love it.

A friend of mine has this one and claims that it's totally B.A. but I gotta be honest, I thought it was a bit much (in price, size, and bells and whistles) for a waffle maker when I saw it on her registry. But, if you really love waffles:

I have one of these except its a different shape (mini waffles) and I have no complaints!link

I should also mention that at the restaurant I used to work at we used the same brand, and it wasn't a commercial waffle maker. It worked great!

ETA I really want that second one that Elmorton posted!!!

I purchased this one, or one like it from a Costco for my co-workers wedding. She loves it!!
It is just like the kind we used at hotels when we used to have to travel together to provide training.

The down side is tht it''s large and takes up space. But it is fast...and must have the turnover feature with non-stick. It takes about 2 to 3 minutes for a LARGE belgian waffle. Yummy. I can''t own one or I would turn into one large waffle myself.

Does All Clad or Cuisnart make one?

I also got a waffle maker that turns on a spit thing. Like in the restaurants. I think it is kitchen aid if I am not mistaken.

Ooh... lots of good options!!! I'm going to have trouble deciding.

The previous one I had flipped over and the stupid handle kept coming off and it was brand new (can't remember the brand).

And the stupid one today took 15 minutes PER WAFFLE to get to a nice gold brown.

Of all the ones listed, I haven't had any of those, so that's good lol.

ETA: just looked at the flippin' one up in the cupboard... it's GE.

We like our Cuisnart.

This is the one we registered for at C&B. We almost went with the kind that you see in hotels (I think Miracles mentioned it) but my FI really wanted this one. Either one would have been fine with me though. We have't used it yet though so I can't comment on how well it works. ETA: sorry the pic is so big!

Oh I absolutely second this!!! These are the best. My BF is in a club on campus and the club bought one so that they could do bake sales. Oh man do they make the best waffles ever. I''m in love with it. Worth it!!!

That is the one I have, the Waring. I have it IN THE BOX. Never opened it, along with a fondue set, smoothie maker and food dehydrator. But I PLAN to open it. Thought it was Kitchen Aid...

Looks like the Waring is the front-runner at the moment. BB&B''s regular price is the same as Macy''s sale price ($80).

We also have a Waring and it is AWESOME. Great waffles every time and we use it pretty frequently.

I also have the waring! As a major waffle lover, my dad surprised me with it for my 23rd birthday! After the first waffle, they all cook very quickly which is a total bonus. My dad is a bit of a researcher for everything he buys, and he told me he wanted the best waffle for me (and at the time, us- as I lived at home). Although it looks clunky, it''s fabulous.

Another vote for the Waring! I got my mom one for Christmas two years ago, and she LOVES it! She uses it almost every day to make breakfasts AND uses it on Sunday mornings for large-scale church breakfasts. She''s got nothing bad to say about it.

I just finished a waffle made with the Waring Pro.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm perfect!

Thanks so much for all the recommendations.
