Are you ok with the fact that you will have either a gap with a straight band or need a custom fitted band with the way that base is?

I think it looks pretty good! I like the prongs rotated that way - good idea. How high up does the setting sit? From the rendering it looks like it is kind of high off the finger? Is that what you're looking for? I'm looking forward to seeing this one when it is done! A lovely inspiration for a ring.

Are you ok with the fact that you will have either a gap with a straight band or need a custom fitted band with the way that base is?

That was a tough decision but I chose to go with a straight band and gap. A flush fit would cause the diamond to sit too high off the finger. I don't like the look of the custom "curved" band, especially when worn alone.

I think its just the way the rendering turned out but I did ask him about that. I definitely do not want it sitting that high.

This is a somewhat old thread but if you look through it its about a 2 carat stone and I think ERD quoted him around $3k for
the setting ( not sure on final cost).
