Thanks, everybody! I''m really happy things seem to be falling into place. (knock on wood!) I''ll definitely put a brooch at the end of the lacing (or close the gap with a hook or something) so I don''t risk indecent exposure! Heh--I''m glad the dress is a little sexier now, though.

I was starting to feel a bit bad for passing up all of those sexy bare-backed slip dresses...(especially that stunning dress Scintillating found!)

Curlygirl, here''s the info on my seamstress.

BrightSpot- so excited for you!! your seamstress sounds great and like she is going to make your dress perfect. I think without the modesty panel is really sexy too... especially for the beach!

Holy Cow!
It it super wonderful!
Brightspot, I honestly think you look better in that dress than the model!

woo hoo BrightSpot, it''s so great to hear all your news. I LOOOVVVVVEEEE the corset without the modesty panel, talk about sexy!! Finding a seamstress that you are comfortable and happy to work with is also so great. Can''t wait to see the finished results.

Thanks, guys, I''m really thrilled that things are coming together! Now I hope that the skirt isn''t going to be too sheer or clingy w/o the lining.

Fortunately I have plenty of time to fix it if it is.

I''m also loving the corset w/o the modesty panel. I was initially a bit worried it would be too much skin, but the look grew on me really quickly.

Hi ladies,

I have an update for you! I went to my first fitting on Saturday. Per my request, Angela, my seamstress removed the modesty panel in the back corset area & the heavy satin lining in the skirt of my dress so it would be cooler more comfortable on the beach. I was hoping that the skirt would look less bulky once this stiff layer was removed. She also closed up the V at the bottom of the corset section so I don''t show anything inappropriate!

I think it looks nice & it''s certainly much cooler, but unfortunately you can see the seams in the lining through the top layers of chiffon. To fix this, Angela is going to replace the lining with one that won''t show through the top layers.

We''re also working on a bustle for the train. Angela suggested a one point bustle? (I''m not sure on my terminology here, but it''s one hook that will attach at the base of the corset V) Do you guys think this is the best option for a bustle, or is there a better idea? Any pics/suggestions?

It looks soooo gorgeous on you!!!! The revised corset back is perfect, and the skirt does look a lot lighter and more flowy! And it''s soooooo prettyyyyy!

Brightspot- That is just the perfect dress for you. The new alterations look fantastic!

You look amazing! The back corset is going to be perfect for your beach wedding!

Unfortunately, I know nothing about bustles (yet) to offer you any advice about that.

You look amazing. What a great dress! I love the corset back...

beautiful!!! can''t even see the seams of the lining in the pics...

a one point bustle sounds good... something simple I think, since the bodice is fancy.

You look stunning, what a gorgeous dress.

Thanks, everyone.

The dress feels soooo much lighter now! And it does drape better, I think (looks less bunchy).

As for the seam, if you look at the pic on the far left on the left side of the photo (the right side of my body) where my thumb is, you can see the seam. It looks like a light stripe in the skirt. It''s more pronounced in person. It definitely bothered me, but Angela will fix it!

She also closed the V of the corset back a couple of inches. I think that''s enough so that I won''t be exposing myself, but still get to ditch the entire modesty panel. Yay! (She didn''t tell me that she closed this up a bit before I tried on the dress, so I tried to step into it & was pretty horrified to discover it would no longer go over my hips!

I was SO glad to hear it was because she''d taken it in....)

Flopkins, I agree...something simple for the bustle would be best. I don''t want to distract from the bodice.

Yay--I love my dress!

Lovely! Just lovely!

Oh Bright!

The wedding dress is absolutely fabulous! It looks so beautiful on you! Sorry I''m so late to join this thread, I''m never in the Bride forum and somehow stumbled into it today.

You look so precious in the dress. Good job for getting it at such a great deal. How exciting to be able to wear that at the beach in Jamaica!

LOL about Angela not telling you about taking up the V a couple of inches and you freaking out for a few secs when the dress wouldn''t pull up your waists. I would''ve freaked out too. Eeek.

It''s a beautiful dress! Congratulations on the great deal!

You and your dress look great!
