Cflutist stole some of the exact words I was going to say....You wonderful folks do make it very hard to stay off Pricescope.

Thanks for all the kind words and sentiments! You don''t know how much it means to us/me.

My reasons are different from cflutist''s and are a bit complex and difficult to talk about via posting. Yes we did have a 2 week DSL problem which was vexing, but I''ve been in the lurking mode for longer than that. I have been answering all the PMs I''ve gotten and I did help out getting the Picture Gallery started and tested (thanks Leonid!).

As for posting....

...well, even though I think I could be candid with all the people who posted on this topic
1.gif
, there are those who could read my comments and not be so thrilled.

There were a number of things that happened (and none of them directly involved me, so that''s not it) that I have, uuummm, difficulty with. Okay, that I just didn''t like/didn''t agree with.

So, exercising my free will, I decided to drop out of sight for a set period of time...and then a longer period of time when another thing happened, and then another period of time..... Currently the next time you would have likely heard from me is after August.

Hhhhhmmmm, not nice... perhaps. But it is totally my choice whether to participate or not. All I add to PS is some levity, nothing about it''s main focus - jewelery/diamonds - so it''s not a big impact if I stop posting.

On the other hand the PMs did tweak my social conscience a bit, making me question if this was "okay". I don''t have an answer for that.

Kaleigh''s topic here is kinda forcing the issue for me. Do I start posting again, or do I continue as a lurker who gets to enjoy Pricescope vicariously?

Just like my signature, there is a part of me that wants to post and there is a part of me that says don''t. They are actually pretty even in strength.....

Once again I''d like to say a HUGE THANKS!!!! to all who posted here.

Back to my more normal joking - re cflutist''s diet.

I love to tweak her hot buttons

11.gif
....so I offered to hook her computer power up to an exercise machine with a generator attached so she could be on PS for as long as she could exercise... it was worth the look!!!!

I''m now down 1,000,000 hubbie points in the hole.

I DID check to see that I was out of fingernail slashing range before I said that!!!!

Leonid,

I''ve only got about 19,950 more pictures I could post in the gallery....

At first, I was really going through Internet and Pricescope
withdrawal. Then I started thinking about how much time I was spending here,
how I was not practicing my flute, how I wasn''t listening to my stereo,
and how I was NOT exercising for an hour each night like I use to
(and thus have gained back 16 of the 26 pounds I worked so hard to lose).
I also thought about how much time I was on Pricescope at work when I should have really been
working.
Cflutist, I totally hear you on this. I''ve gone through a couple of internet diets myself, mostly during the times my computer acts up, but wind up thinking along this very line, of course in areas which pertain to my life and the things I enjoy. Computer issues are one thing, but making the choice to be here (online in general) instead of doing other quality things in life sometimes makes me go "huh?"

But next thing I know, computer is fixed, I log on and it starts all over...
14.gif

Websailor, I for one miss you around here. I''m sure I''m not alone. But I''ll respect whatever you decide. It''s gotta be right for you.

Computers and hustle and bustle are all right, but sometimes it''s a lot more real like this. Here we are having survived the rapids on the Rogue River in Oregon, miles and miles from the nearest civilization, and facing more rapids if we want to get out.

We''re all having some nice conversation and respecting our various quirks (you had to be there) and opinions.

As much as we''d like some things to be different (like supper to be ready sooner!!!), we''re cool. Just kicking back and enjoying life....

Are you sure it''s not a business meeting? That''s the most organized group of tourists I''ve ever seen in my life!

Good to see you both back!
I missed you.
The thing you have to keep in mind is that on boards like this just like anyplace else some people are going to like you and what you do and some arent.
Some are going to praise you and some are going to complain.
Thats life!
Do what is right for you!

So, you were in my neck of the woods and didn''t drop in for lunch? I hope you enjoyed your river adventures. Ain''t Oregon a little slice of heaven?

LOL!!!! Nope, that''s a bunch of very hungry rafters waiting for the second the food was ready...the cook learned to move out of the way quickly once they said, "Dinner''s Ready"!

Nobody wanted to get tooo far away...

Besides the stories being told were pretty funny!

Matata,

Where were you 20 years ago? LOL, that''s about when these pics were taken.....

Oregon is beautiful!

I''m now a dedicated West Coaster, but I came from New York.... Before I went to college, I took a trip all around the USA in my little VW..... Hit the West Coast up at Seattle, met a girl on the Ocean Beaches near the Olympic Forest and kinda fell in love, then traveled down the coast on Hwy 1 all the way to crazy LA, having adventures along the way. Headed back East till I hit New Mexico, then turned around and went back to WA (3 guesses why and 2 don''t count).

I decided that my place was somewhere on the West Coast by then...

.....yeah, you all make it hard to stay away.....

Apropos of my post above, here is when I finally decided to go to college. Nope, that''s not THE girl....unfortunately we did not stay together...too young and too much learning to do. But oh, what a great time we had for a few months!!!!!! LOL, there are a few stories there, but I''ve only told a few people them...and I''m not sure I even can tell some on Pricescope

Like the time we were at the Laundomat.......uuuuummmm, nope I don''t think I can get away with that story....

(Oh, yes I met her while camping)......

I think I will tell at least one memory over on our Who''s Who when I get a chance.

You''ve been missed!

I totally understand a break now and again, sometimes it''s needed to reevaluate things. I''m just thrilled to see new postings in your "who''s who" they are ALWAYS some of my favorites here.

Even though we are in the cyberworld...somehow in the real world I think I would enjoy your company

CF and WS,

I can certainly understand the ''diet''. I tend to particpate in forums in on-off bursts/cycles. When ds was smaller and then during my morning sickness phase the internet was the last thing on my mind. I''m on quite a bit lately partly because I know that soon I''ll be completely MIA again with the new baby. It is a lot fun here but real life always has to take precedence. It could be different for long-time members who have met in person and all. That adds a whole new dimension to a community. So far, it''s been online only for me and so much easier to disconnect when I need to.

My dh gets at me for spending as much time online as I do.

Glad to hear I''m not the only one stuggling w/ time/priority issues! Best, Kayla

Sometimes you do have to disengage, reevaluate, and if the circumstances are right, then come back.... I''m still doing that.

Hhhhhmmm this brings to mind some pictures from a neat event.....here''s one:

Aah, that picture reminds me of the scene in Sweet home Alabama where Melanie is yelling, "Daddy? Daddy?"
