Did it JUST disappear, just now? I tried to post and I got a msg. that said I wasn't allowed to post on that forum (an error msg I guess). When I tried to go back it wouldn't let me and now I don't see that thread.

It's gone. Uppy posted an email from Whitby and I'm assuming that violated the rules, thus the thread went up in smoke.

I just think the comments with the whole fake pregnancy thing seem very familiar to the bust up from a year ago. I don't think it's smart for posters I like to be saying such things. For one, it would be hurtful to the poster in question. Second, I'd hate to see posters I like get reprimanded for silly jokes and gossip.

I remember seeing someone write that she had been away from the computer for two hours and had returned to find 10 new pages of thread. I had to go out to take my daughter on a series of errands. When I returned the thread was gone and I found this comment by Ella. All I can say is that it wasn't mean when I left! I don't have a clue what transpired in my short (in real time) absence. In "thread time" I was gone for eons!!!

I was referring to the bashing during the 24 hour thread and the thread yesterday. I personally feel it is in poor taste to ascribe motives to individuals who cannot respond for themselves. I.E.: don't talk badly about people behind their back.

I see. I wouldn't categorize anything I've written as "bashing". But I'll agree that discussions of people who cannot post here (due to their own actions) could be considered "talking behind someone's back". I'll cop to it. Obviously it wasn't SO behind their back if there were plenty of birdies to carry the messages though.

ETA: On a consumer forum, there is a lot of "talking behind people's backs" -- i.e. -- vendors, customer service etc. And it seems there's an entire OTHER way for folks here to do the same. I'm happy that you think its in such poor taste for folks to discuss ME over on FB. Thanks for your support!

I appreciate your explanation, Maisie. I think that folks' opinions on things vary wildly. For instance, unlike you, I found Whitby ENTIRELY annoying. From top to bottom. And often offensive in the way I describe "offensive". And, yes, I do realize that my sometimes snarky "voice" has the potential to upset a certain (low-ish) percentage of people. Overall, I believe there's value in what I say, and value in the *way* I say it. MOST of the time. I'm sure I have bad days where a mean-spiritedness can creep in. Do try to cop to it when that happens. ESPECIALLY if someone calls me on it in a way that cuts through my temporary mood. If I was someone posting just to push people's buttons & not genuinely trying to help folks I'd better understand your ire. No hard feelings on my part.

I decided to go for a long lunch because it was getting catty again. Maybe I'm clueless about the situation but some of the speculation about what people were lying about was enough to get me to get disinterested. It's no longer fun when people say "I hate X poster or think X poster is this" and 50 people jump in and speculate who it is and that hopefully it isn't them, right? RIGHT?

Maisie, I know I don't need to defend Deco, so I'm not. But I will say that sometimes you come across as very naive in your posts. As you are inferring, people can annoyed by TONE. You get upset by Deco's posts because of your PERCEPTION. How naive is it for you to assume that posters YOU Like aren't perceived by others as less than enjoyable?

Just as your more sensitive nature finds Deco's posts snarky, some people's more "shooting from the hip" nature perceives warmth and cuddlies as OVERBEARING and ANNOYING.
