Thank you all so much for all your responses!

As much as I loved my old ring (we picked it out together and it was super nice), I''m really excited about the new one! I just had an on-line conference session with Joe wrom WF, and we worked on the new custom setting for my new upgraded 1.8 ideal round cut. It''s so exciting! I should have my new ring very very soon!

Real quick back to the inscription discussion. I didn''t know it''s so easy to remove the inscription. Even though it is, I think someone should create the data base, maybe insurance companies? I wouldn''t know how to remove inscription, I''m sure many people wouldn''t either. If someone found the diamond with the inscription and took it to the jeweler or police, they can get a reward or something.

Anyway, I''m moving forward, and very happy about the new beauty!

Thanks again!

Congratulations on finding a new stone!! I''m glad that you''re moving forward.

I''m not sure how the database would work because every jeweller, including pawn brokers, would need the ability to change the status of the piece if one of their clients bought something so that the new owner was attached to the stone. This also wouldn''t take into account private sellers such as ebay or auction houses. Even if the stone was found intact, rather than run over by a car and badly chipped, it could link back to a different owner if the stone changed hands.
