Sorry, I just saw this. I got married in 2003, and I have no idea what the style name or number was. I got it at Von Maur, but I think Nordstrom carries Felina, you could try there. It was basically just a nude, padded strapless bra. I''ll see if I can find it online still and try to post a pic.

ETA: I think it was this one, called Laurel. There are a couple more styles that might work for you on designerintimates.com.

*bump* Lucy Love, just noticed you were online and I wanted you to see that I did reply to your last post on this thread.

that dress is absolutely stunning on you - and what a steal! well, luckily it doesn''t look like you still have a lot filling to do for the top. did you try a strapless bra with padding but then add extra padding on each side? I am lopsided (one B cup and one C cup), so I just remove the padding from one side and put them both in the other. so far it is working well.

I think it''s funny that we have all now accepted to call those things "chicken filet". my mom once wore something like that out dancing and it fell down her shirt! she and her friends had a good laugh, but I imagine you wouldn''t want that at your wedding so make sure they''re secure, if you choose that option.

yes, monarch... thank you!! i''m going to check around and see if the new nordstrom here has felina bras.

noelwr: thank you! i do love the dress a lot, too. =) i''m gonna try all sorts of things and see which works best. hopefully it won''t cost me a lot to try stuff out!

I HIGHLY recommend these

amazing little bits of gel

combined with a long line bra (sort of like a corset type thing only no lace)

The combo worked wonders for me.
Oooh, they look amazing - and a bit more stable than the chicken fillets (either than or UK chicken fillets are just weird looking).

We don''t have Victoria''s Secrets over here

, but ebay will prob come up trumps.

Thanks Fancy!

They are stable. I was skeptical about them until I wore them. I almost want to post before and after pictures...but I dunno about posting cleavage shots here. I don''t want to be vulgar.

you know it''s so funny... i bought a bra from macy''s a while ago and never used it. don''t know why i bought it. haha but it''s a Felina bra! :D so i''m going to try it on with the wedding dress and see how it works. i''m also going to buy some gel inserts. =) my grandma is going to be sewing skinny double straps onto my dress... that way i won''t have to worry about it falling down. =) i think it''ll turn out good. thanks for all your help, ladies!

If push comes to shove, you can do what I did, but it was totally ghetto and I wouldn''t recommend it. I totally stuffed my dress with TP...seriously. The only downfall is that you run the risk of drinking a bit too much and then at the end of the night, ripping the TP out of the dress in complete abandon. Thank gawd the photographer was gone by then or I would be in the hall of shame.

But in my defense, they didn''t have all the 20th century "miracle bras" back then.

What about those ' chicken filets' things? I have heard they are quite effective!
I can vouch for the silicone ones Victoria's Secret sells. I use these all the time. I'm 5'7" and about 145 pounds - athletic figure and a small top (not even a B). I don't fill out anything without chicken filets or a good padded bra. The good thing about the silicone ones is that they warm to your body temperature and move naturally once they do. Definately pass the "hug test" also -- I have fooled many dates (as in, guys I went out with once or twice casually and that was it -- so they never saw anything that wasn't visible in the restaurant/club) into thinking that the filets were "all me" when they hugged me.

I would do one of two things:

Option #1:

[sorry in advance for TMI description - it's necessary here]

The most effective way to make them work is to get a good underwire bra. I realize your dress is strapless, so what you'll need is an underwire strapless bra. Victoria's makes a really good one that stays up with no problem. Put on the bra and hook it at the last hook (tightest setting). Then, get your boobs, lift them up and arrange the "chicken filet" under your boob. The chicken filet acts like a shelf on top of the underwire and under your boob, and the effect you get is that nicely rounded cleavage look. If you're worried about the fabric of the dress gaping, get some of that adhesive that swimmers use to stick their suits down -- or you can use double-sided lingerie tape (any good lingerie shop should sell it - or if not, Frederick's of Hollywood catalog/website). I used this option when I was Maid of Honor 3 summers ago. My dress was a plunging halter style and I was actually complemented on how well I "filled it out." And you barely notice the tape, so it's not like something sticking to you.

Option #2 if you don't want to wear a bra:

I got this idea from a woman at a prior job who had a masectomy but did not opt for reconstruction. She had a couple of sets of filets. Normally, she would just stick the filets in her bra. When she didn't wear a bra, like with a swimsuit, she just had a tailor sew pockets in it where the filets would go. She never bought any special "masectomy clothes." I imagine you can have whoever does the alterations on your dress sew some pockets in the top of the dress for the filets. When I was married, I wore a strapless dress, and the dressmaker sewed bra cups in the top, and this isn't that different an idea.

Bridget in Connecticut.

You star Bridget!

Possible TMI warning here...

My dress isn''t strapless but the sleeves start quite near the edges of my shoulders - I have very broad shoulders (too much swimming
20.gif
) so there is a fair amount of flesh on display.

The dress is a modern twist on Tudor - the corset is historically correct only with modern materials and then the dress goes over the top. The corset is designed to be completely flat across the front, so your boobs get pushed upwards as there is no where else for them to go. There is no covering over the top part so any false ''extra'' can only come up as far as nipple level.

However being less than super-well-endowed, mine just squish flat...
15.gif
. You definitely can''t wear a bra underneath at all. So I need to discuss a way with my dressmaker that will allow me to add some extra and make sure the stay both in the corset and with me - I don''t want to end up with a 3rd boob
23.gif

The pockets might just work...

My dressmaker hasn''t had to deal with this before so it will be a bit trial and error - we''re still at the toile stage so plenty of room for trial.

Sorry lucy for ''borrowing'' your thread by the way!

What about those stick-on silicone like things? They kinda look like raw chicken...??? I''ll try to figure out what they''re called. They do wonders!

Ok. Excuse the pictures on the website, but this is what I was talking about... http://www.nubra.net/

awesome ideas everyone.. thank you so much!

Pandora - i''m glad you can use this thread too! =)
Sandia - I''m gonna try my dress on with my strapless bras and "stuffing" and see what works best.

UPDATE: My grandma is going to be sewing on double spaghetti straps for me. I think it''ll look great! She used the extra fabric that she cut off from the bottom, so it matches of course. I think I rather be confident my dress won''t fall off, then to have a strapless dress. =) I don''t care anymore, I''m getting married that day!! haha

I''ll let you know what ends up working for me... and possibly post pictures of my trial run!
