So I have a question I KNOW the LIW''s will understand and maybe know the answer to...

Eric and I have been talking about getting married for about a year now. He works hard and has recently really been trying to save money for a ring. He even has put a downpayment on the ring we both fell in love with. (as I have been told by my best friend)

Here is the thing... Yesterday we were chatting about it and I (trying to be sneaky even though I know the truth) said, "Baby, what if the ring is gone??" to which he replied, "No I have a good feeling it''s there." So then I tried to be more sneaky and ask when he thought a proposal would be to which he replied "....hmmmm...May I think".

So now I am totally thrown off... The other day he talked about going to Disneyland for our 3 year - The place he KNOWS I would LOVE a proposal... So I thought, wow, maybe by February...

But now he says May. Hmmmm... haha Now, don''t worry girls - I am NOT bummed at all. I am THRILLED by the thought that it is coming THIS YEAR!! Total OMG moment. hehe But I still wonder... Do you think he is trying to throw me off?? Say May to make it more or a surprise... or is it really May because of the money factor??

haha Have a little fun with this girls :) Like I said, I am happy either way. :) But I won''t lie... Having a ring in February would be pretty amazing. hehe Thanks in advance for the help!!

First off, congrats on the upcoming 3 year mark! I hit mine at the end of January. :)

I think he may be trying to throw you off. He doesn''t know that your friend told you he put a downpayment on it, right? It seems like most guys like to have fun with the "surprise" aspect, so I hope that is what he''s doing here.

I''ll keep my fingers crossed that you''ll be getting your perfect princess proposal.

Stupid computer, making me double post. *shakes fist*

Yeah I am pretty sure he is unaware that she leaked the secret to me... Or as far as I know...

But thank you for the advice. :) No matter what happens, proposal in Feb or May - I will be happy. This part, waiting that is, can be pretty fun and I figure I better enjoy it while I can because it will never happen again. :) I just wanted to get some perspective from the ladies that understand the situation best. :) hehe

Thank you for the Princess wishes!! That means A LOT to me!! And Congrats on your anniversary!! It feels pretty good. :)

I think he''s trying to be sneaky like you were and throw you off of his master plan!

Either way things look good! Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary!

hehe - Yeah I might want to follow my own advice to others in this case and just let it happen when the right time comes. hehe

And thanks for the congrats on the 3 year anni!! I am happy about it too. :) It feels like no time has passed because I am so happy.

You girls are so delightful!!

It is always so difficult to tell what those boys are up to!! I would say if you know its coming and the two of you are going to the place he KNOWS you want to get engaged---- I would say its coming that day-- he''s trying to throw you off a bit--- BUT I guess you never know- I would say just go and enjoy Disney (BTW- How fun for your anniversary!)....and if it happens fabulous, and what a wonderful memory for you both- but if it does not happen- look out- I bet something even more memorable is coming your way.... Congrats!

Wow - is it possible for me to be even more amazed then I am daily by you ladies?? Goodness you have GREAT advice. :)

I will indeed enjoy Disneyland (considering I am OBSESSED) and because it is with him. :) And if a ring comes to, then YAY!! If not, how can I complain - a day at Disneyland with the love of my life on our anniversary. What could be bad?? hehe

Thanks again for the help!!

He so could be trying to throw you off the scent, especially if you kind of know where it is probably going to happen. That''s so cool though-just think in just under five months, you''ll be engaged either way!

I totally thought that my proposal was going to happen when we were going to NY in July to buy our ring, but D told me beforehand that although he was going to buy it there, he wasn''t going to propose there as he wanted it to be a surprise and he knew that every time he even bent down to tie his shoelace I would have thought that he was going to propose! I was so disappointed at the time but then his proposal was even better than I could have imagined so even if you don''t get your proposal in Disneyland, he will do something fabulous and it might be something that you never thought of.

*awe* Bee thank you so much!! I love hearing your story and knowing I am not alone with this. You always have such wonderful things to say and I appreciat it. And I totally agree - even i it is not in Feb it will still e amazing and I will still e lucky enough to marry the man I love with all my heart. :)

***Update-ish***

I just got off the phone with Eric and said it would be a really special day if we do end up for sure going to Disneyland on our anni and that if he could ask for the day off it would be good. :) To this he replies...

"Yeah - that works out really, REALLY well. A PERFECT plan in so many ways baby."

hehe Ok - I need to chill and push those hopes DOWN. haha But I had to share...

He is so being tricksy! And sneaky! And trying to pull the wool over your eyes-although he doesn''t know that you know as much as you do...Oooo...this is VERY promising. Even right now, when I KNOW that D hasn''t even looked at rings by himself, he is still trying to trick me and throw me off his scent.

These boys...gotta stay two steps ahead of them.

Hopes up, hopes down. Ack! I emerse myself with all the LIW stories here to keep me from thinking about myself. For you MissErin, I really think he''s trying to throw you off. But it''s so hard to tell. I don''t want you to get your hopes up because of what we''re saying but that''s exactly what it seems like. Have fun in Disneyland either way!

Moon I always LOVE what you have to say!! You seem to understand the back and forth method of maddness involved with being a LIW. :) hehe And I too come on here to distract myself from my own ring wait. :) Although we all could use a little perpective - and you as well as others have given me mine!! How lucky I am!! :) I''m sure this year will be amazing, no matter when the ring slips onto my finger. :)

Just make sure you relax and enjoy your day at Disneyland. Don''t focus so much on the possibility of him popping the question that you miss having fun or that you end up disappointed if it doesn''t happen.

I love Disneyland! We live twenty minutes away and when we had passes it was my favorite thing to do on Sunday mornings. I am currently in negotiations with my BF to purchase passes again this year. We let them lapse over the last year and I miss going!!!

Oooooohhhh MissErin sounds like he''s up to something!

How exciting!!

Hope you have fun regardless!!

Thanks darling!! I love Disneyland too but I am basically an hour away so it dosen''t happen as much. I actually live right by Magic Mountain - but that is not VERY romantic... haha

Not romantic unless you want to hang out with teenage gangsters!!!

(p.s. Our negotiations are going very well. He has just agreed to look into pricing for passes this year and I told him I wanted to go for Valentine''s Day...)

Yeah magic mountain is not my idea of perfect. hehe

P.S. I am EXCITED about you negitiations!! I used to have one and I miss it so much!! Even if you just go for a few hours, hit the rides you love, and then take off - it''s worth it. :) And V-day is on a Thur this year so it should be pretty dead. :) And I will be there that following Sun (feb 17th) so I''ll think about you. Oh, and before I forget - if you want MASSIVE Disney tips like hidden mickeys, basketball courts, best ride ideas, and so on - I can totally let you know. :)

Yay for Disneyland!!

I can''t wait until you post your proposal story/ring pics. Your guy is very, very lucky!

ohhhhh how exciting!!! My money is on your dream Disney proposal. But I think you are smart to try not to get overly excited. We are probably not helping! In any event, schedule that mani and keep us posted!

hehe I figure if I get a little excited it''s not too big of a deal because I don''t think there really could be any let down. Spending the day at Disneyland with my amazing boyfriend is very special in itself. :) But either way I will be letting you ladies know how it goes. :)

I''ll just go ahead and jump on the throw-you-off train
2.gif
but, let him have his fun! Be thrown off, buy into the "may proposal" thing... then if it does come earlier, it will be extra special!!

Congratulations on the very closely impending proposal!!!

You are so right!! I need to give him the satisfaction of the surprise. :) hehe You totally made me giggle with the "throw-you-off train"!! hehe Thank you for the help!!

I agree with bee. He''s just trying to throw you a curve. "She thinks she has this figured out; well I''ll surprise her!"
