Well I did it! :appl: After going back and forth I decided to go with IDJ. As I said on another of my threads, my signature cut .25 ctw baby bezels from BGD don't look any more sparkly than my IDJ eternity. They both are beautiful. I decided I didn't need the H&A cut in such small stones. I also decided to go with 14k wg because I will be wearing the bracelet everyday and think 14k will wear better. Luann sent me a few pictures of the setting, the bezels will measure around 4.5mm wide and I think that will be the perfect size. I won't be getting it for a few weeks but will post when it arrives.

I can't wait to see your pictures! How exciting!

I think it will be beautiful!!! Just curious, why do you think 14k will wear better? Just FYI, here is what Neil Beatty said once here on the forum:

"The hardness of the final product is a more complicated question than the simple karatage of the metal. Properly worked, some alloys of 18k can be quite durable. For commercially cast type pieces, 14k yellow gold is usually more durable than 18k yellow gold. 18k white is usually more durable than 14k white."

Oh crap DS, no sleep again. I thought because there was less gold it wouldn't be as soft. I asked Luann and she said that the 18k links might stretch. The upcharge is only $350 so price wasn't a concern.

Definitely did not want you to lose sleep, but at least you can make an informed decision. I know a lot of people have that misconception because of it being true with yellow gold. I think my tennis bracelet is 14k, but I only wear it a few times a year. So wear is not an issue for me. But if I were getting a new one, I'd love to do platinum if I could afford it and my other choice would be 18k wg.

I talked to Luann about the cost of plat. It would be a whopping $2500 more and the weight would be close to 30g. As far as the 18k, does anyone know the alloy that is used in 18k wg that would make it more durable then 14k wg. Also, what is the alloy that's added so there is no need to plate with rhodium?
